Am happy to join this Catholic group. I am a catholic Religious and am engaged in charitable work in Kenya Africa. I have a children’s Home and also a health center that helps the poor Salama.
I would really love to know about peoples opinion on the new modern Mass which is, if I may say, half Catholic and half protestan. The fruit is very very poor and …? The four signs to identify Catholic are ONE; HOLY, CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC: Meaning One in doctrine, one in the of worship etc.How can we call it catholic when in some parts of africa we are being told not to recieve communion at hand and in Europe people do recieve at hands. May I stop here for today I will continue next time. I have to pray now.

If you say that half of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is protestant, then you are saying that half of the Mass, as promulgated by the Catholic Church, is departing from the Catholic Church.

That leads me to think that you are contradicting yourself with your statement or that you are stating that the Holy Spirit is not in control anymore. Which one of the two???

Please be aware that our separated brethren are exposed to and accept part of the Truth. While we MUST do our best to bring them in the Catholic Church, thus bringing them to the Whole Truth, we cannot completely reject their believes en block because that would imply a rejection of part of our owns.

Sometimes it feels to me that there are people out there who have really great doubts about just how valid Vatican 2 was…

But to question Vatican 2 is also to question the authority of The Church and I’m sure that no really traditional Catholic would even imagine doing that…

I strive to be as true to the Church’s teachings as I can, but I’ll admit that it can get confusing trying sort out the old and the new!! And Vatican 2 happened before my time! Wow!

I understand your concern on the disunity this has produced and the lack of good fruit that has come about from the way the modern mass is done.

It is not really the fault of the modern mass but abuses of it. Done properly and in obedience to Vatican II you would see it done much more uniform and you would recognize it as Catholic.

Unfortunately throughout the world many have lost the faith and seek ways to replace that loss faith in God with a faith in feelings. So they twist the Mass from a Worship of God to a “feel good session”

Little things like communion in the Hand are just indicators of what people really believe but do not negate the power of the Mass. Jesus is still present, unfortunately we just need to rediscover the riches we have in the Catholic faith.

Don’t despair, you are not alone, the Pope knows about this too.
The Church is a big ship and it takes a lot to fix and keep it on the right track. Pray, be faithful and seek holiness and welcome to the forums.

You should probably stop here for good. There is nothing good that can come of this. To criticize the Mass in such fashion is to criticize Christ Himself. There are certain disciplines that need addressing, something that the Pope is very aware. Why don’t we leave it to him?
