Hey this isn’t right! I missed the show!! Can someone tell us about tonight episode?

I missed the last episode:eek: I thought it aired at 10:00 EST but I checked the schedule and it aired earlier today. Did anyone see it so they can tell what happened. Maybe we should email TLC and try and show support and get them to reair the last epsiode. They really didn’t schedule it well and if they had it on more than 1 time (I don’t count the 1:00 A.M. showings) the series would have probably done a lot better than it did.
I hate that when they do that. I turned it on at 10pm (10:15pm actually) to see if I missed anything, and some other show was on. Figures… the one night I stay up a bit, and it’s not even on.

What’s worse about today’s episode not being rebroadcast is the fact that there is no episode listed for next week at all. And my wife says she isn’t seeing as many commercials for it as she used to. Hmmm, the plot sickens…

I saw it but only by dumb luck (I was hoping to catch a Flip This House episode). The final show was really touching, but not in the way you would think. There were really no final “a-ha” moments or instant conversions. Jon, the paramdeic, remained cynical and detached to the very last minute. Tom, who at first claimed to have found a relationship with God, then went on to say that he had found “something” in himself, and couldn’t say whether it was God. Warren seemed to feel the experience was very worthwhile and Will went back home to his fiancee and got her pregnant again. Hmm… Anyway, I think we should e-mail them about this.

Does anyone know the email address? I looked on the website but couldn’t find it…

I went to that site and foud out that Warren wasn’t even aware of the change either.
Hopefully they will get enough responses and reair.

I also emailed them. I can’t believe the treatment this show received.

Poor timeslot.
Very little advertisement.
None of the repeats throughout the week that every other TLC show gets.
Changing the timeslot of the final episode for no real reason.
Not available on Comcast On-Demand.

I guess a TV network can’t handle a balanced view of life in a Catholic monastery.

A friend in Canada noticed they are doing one on women in Jan. I think it is. A very similar format.

Also, I wonder what the one on this coming Sunday will be like called ‘Trial by Choir’. Looks interesting.

I received a response from viewer relations and wanted to pass this along…

Oh??? So we have to PAY EXTRA to see this episode on their “demand” channel???

No wonder my DVR did not record it on Sunday!

Yeah, I just got one of these as well. What is “Discovery on Demand?” (I don’t have cable - I was watching the show at a friend’s house.) And how is it free?

“Discovery On Demand” is a service that cable companies offer. I don’t know about other cable companies but Comcast offers it free through “Comcast On Demand”. You need to have Comcast digital service so in effect it isn’t totally free since you need to pay for both cable and digital cable but if you pay for both of them already it is free.

"On Demand’ allows you to download the show any time you want to view it. Not all shows are put on the listing. At least for me it is good news that they will be making it available to “On Demand” but I am sure it isn’t good news to those that view it via satelliete or cable systems that don’t have “On Demand”.

I got a reply to my email and they said there is no current plan to offer the series on DVD, but they would forward my email to executives for review.

The reply also said that there are no current plans to re-air the series, but that may change so broadcast schedules should be checked periodically. 😦

You don’t think TLC’s poor treatment of the show’s scheduling is a response to any “feedback” do you? If so, I fear its plans for the convent series.

For folks in the U.S., the website of Our Lady of the Mississippi Abbey has this to say:

“The 4 episodes of The Learning Channel’s The Monastery featuring our monastery will air Sundays at 2 PM beginning on Easter Sunday (8 April 2007).”

TLC’s website doesn’t seem to have any information.

Thank you for this! They moved the last episode w/o warning and DW and I wanted to know what happened.
