Brianwashing is a myth. People believe what they want to believe. I find it incredulous that small imperfections, which abound in all written historical works, can be used as reason to discredit as a whole, a complete doctrine. Matters of interpretation without divine guidance is a useless exercise. There are massive problems with the Roman Catholic Bible. It not only has evolved tremendously, it has many times been rewritten. The aforementioned problems with the book of Mormon, have all been addressed. Modern LDS members are ex-communicated for polygamy. This is one change of many that has made the modern Mormon doctrine the most correct. This is not a reason to ridicule, but to celebrate. Without modern revelation, doctrine becomes stale and obsolete. Joseph Smith’s restored doctrine, as imperfect as it was, was sealed with his blood. A loving God would not condemn the majority of his children, but would seek out a way to save them. Even after this mortal life is over, I believe there will be opportunity to accept the gospel and step into the presence of God. That is why we condemn no one, we exclude no one, we reject no one or challenge another’s belief. This nit picky, wholesale aspersion casting, and judgemental slaughter of other people’s beliefs contained in these pages is typical of a scared religeon struggling to hang onto legitimacy.

I tend to agree as a revelator I can see the pain Joseph Smith had and other prophets in being taken seriously. I tend to view this in simple concerns no parent or faith should hammer their faith into a child using the force of authority that of a parent or a faith. What is that if not brainwashing?

In the United States it may not be so bad we are open and a child has exposure to other ideas overall. But taking advantage of ones power to drive your faith into a peoples is disgusting the Roman Catholic Church is only so well established in South America do to you invading with the conquerers and destroying all rivals. I can point fingers at others I was raised Lutheran and had no say in my private education, in fact they used every bit of force they could to keep me nice and sheepish following the leaders of the faith. Thankfully I read and had the opportunity to say no. In many areas of the world orthodoxy is so strong, the dogma so mighty backed by the rule of law or just overall domination that free choice is a myth.

I will point out humanitarian rights conventions cover this and you seem to ignore the rights of a child to not me so manipulated and forced. Why not leave their minds alone save to teach them neutrally about all faiths and science and logical thought and then when they can freely choose as an adult join one of your faiths?

What are you so afraid of? If your faith is true than you wouldn’t need to foist it on the most vulnerable so harshly - children. There are exceptions but almost all faiths have that problem.

I agree people believe what they want to believe, however that does not make brainwashing a myth. Brainwashing is forcing someone to believe something be that making all other choices unbearable, in fact, making them want to believe that something is true through fear or any other emotion. Negative consequences for choosing something that is against the plan, positive reinforcement for choosing for the plan.

This happens everyday. The plan is not limited to what is objectively true or not just how it is enforced, good or bad.

Addressed? sure. well-reasoned? no. Problems with the Bible have been addressed as well. Does that make it ok as well?

With modern revelation doctrines change with the times of man instead of keeping with the timelessness nature of God.

He did find a way to save them. By providing us with His Mercy in the person of Jesus Christ. A loving God but also a Just God.
