Yeah we literally heard it from another Mormon during their Bible study.
Now when it comes to temple I know that’s a lot more lock-and-key/hush-hush.

Ask away. I used to work in them.
My boyfriend actually found some videos of people who snuck cameras in and it created more questions than answers xD Obviously we wouldn’t ask a practicing Mormon because that would be pretty upsetting for them.
But I noticed the people were wearing all white and the women looked like they were in hijab-style scarves. Is that the temple garments? I got confused because they also refer to their underwear as temple garments and when I tried to asked if it was the same thing they clammed up.
Is there anything you miss from the temple now that you don’t go anymore? They do look beautiful from the pictures I’ve seen. And how does it compare to Mass?

That is the temple dress. They only wear that in the temple and when they die, they wear it in their casket.

The garment is the underclothing. They wear that basically 24/7.

the way the missionaries explained it to me was people in higher heavens can visit people in lower heavens.
The missionaries never taught me this. It sounds like you get a day pass to other heavenly kingdoms.

Sorry, I’m a student and messaging inbetween classes, I don’t expect instant responses. Just got excited about someone formerly from the inside and now Catholic (correct me if I’m wrong, didn’t check your profile) offering to answer temple questions.

I’m in RCIA.

I’ll be happy to answer you questions later this evening.

So what’s outer darkness?
Outer darkness is where you go if you commit the unpardonable sin. It’s none of the kingdoms of glory. It’s eternal hell. You have become one of Satan’s minions and you will suffer hell fire for eternity.

Yeah. You can visit down, but you can’t visit up. I don’t know if that’s actual doctrine, but it’s often talked about and assumed. One of those things that I’ve never really concerned myself with.

Not that I can think of. I have to admit, I enjoyed the friends. Mormonism has a good network of friends. I do miss some of them. The temples are quite opulent and beautiful. The church spares no expense when they build temples.

As far as Mass goes, well, let me give you a short answer based on my personal experience. As a former Mormon, I never expected Mass to be what it was. I went into it very skeptical. But I came away from it, almost immediately impressed. There’s no doubting the feelings that I had. I guess I have been bred to rely a lot on feelings with my Mormon upbringing, so I admit to that tendency.

I never knew that during communion, a non-Catholic could still go up and with his/her arms crossed over their chest, receive a blessing from the priest. I noticed it a couple of weeks ago and talked about it with my wife. She explained it to me. So, the following Sunday during communion, I went up there. Now, you have to understand me. I’m not one prone to a lot of spiritual experiences. I’m in my 60’s and have a lot to talk to the priest about when I have my first reconciliation. I feel as unworthy as anyone. But when the Deacon put his hand on me and gave me that blessing, oh my . . . my feet did not hit the floor all the way back to the pew. I can’t explain what that did to me. It was the most profound feeling of the Spirit that I’ve ever had. I have never felt anything like that in the Mormon temple.
