The Most High God.

Why did the Angels & devils call Jesus the “Son of The Most High”? (Luke 1:32), (Luke 8:27-28).
Why they did not call him just “Son of God” or “Son of The High God”, I don’t know the Greek word for that or if its really mean “the most”.

Because that makes me believe in this scenario:

The Most High God

god(earthy)-----god(earthy)------goddess(earthy)------etc…

I know that there is only one true God, but Satan could have created the other earthy gods and made himself high god upon them as mentioned in (Isaiah 14:12-14), so when that had happened, the Angels & devils had no option other than to call “God” (the true one) with the name “The Most High God” to prevent any confusion between those too many gods.

An example of that is when I say to my daughter please take this envelope and deliver it to your cousin in the XXX building, then after years lots of buildings got built around that XXX building (without the government approval) but still the XXX building remained the highest building out there, now how shall I tell my second daughter to go to that building to deliver another envelope without confusion!, I would tell her take this envelope and give it to your cousin in the Most High building, in this scenario I will be sure that the envelope will reach the right target.

What do you think, is my assumption right?

The problem lies in that Satan is a created being and thus could not have created anything himself (He might be powerful, but he is still not on par with God). J.R.R. Tolkien summed up this idea in his novel the Lord of the Rings: ‘The Shadow that bred them can only mock, it cannot make…’

As for the title, ‘God Most High’ (Hebrew: El-'Elyon, literally meaning ‘Higher, Upper’) is an ancient Semitic title for God. The Greek term in Luke 8: 28 is ‘Yie tou Theou tou hypsistou’ which literally would mean ‘Son [of ] God [the] Most High’ while Luke 1 uses ‘Yios hypsistou’ (Son of the Most High) (The Greek word hypsistos is actually used to translate the word ‘Elyon’ in the Septuagint).

We can see it used in Genesis 14: 18-20 to describe the God whose king Melchizedek was priest of:
Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine, **and being a priest of God Most High **(Hebrew: El-'Elyon, Greek: Theou tou upsistou), he blessed Abram with these words:
“Blessed be Abram by the God Most High, the creator of Heaven and Earth;
And blessed be God Most High, who delivered your foes into your hand.”

An interesting thought that came to me while writing this post is that perhaps the angels and the demons are perhaps making a reference to this story; Jesus is after all, similar to Melchizedek as said in Hebrews:
…This “Melchizedek, king of Salem and priest of God Most High (Greek: Theou tou upsistou),”
“met Abraham as he returned from his defeat of the kings” and “blessed him.”
And Abraham apportioned to him “a tenth of everything.” His name first means righteous king, and he was also “king of Salem,” that is, king of peace.
**Without father, mother, or ancestry, without beginning of days or end of life, thus made to resemble the Son of God, he remains a priest forever. **

What I learned in Catechism at school many years ago, is that Satan has no power to create. Like all other creatures, the only abilities he has are the ones that God allows him. The best he can do is deceive and convince people he has more power than he really does; which he’s quite good at.

As you journey into Chrisianity you will find some very interesting things… like that everything in the New Testament was forshadowed in the Old Testament… there was some sort of precursor or prophesey about it… These things affirm our belief in God the Father and his holy Son.

Here are some examples of what I am talking about:

Abraham has Isaac carry the wood up the mountain just as Jesus carries his cross…

The Ark of the Covenant contains the word of God (10 commandments), the heavenly food (manna), and the authority of God (the staff of Aaron) Authority and the growth of Gods kingdom… and Mary is the New Ark… what did she hold within her womb? The Word of God (Jesus), the heavenly foor for the world (the body and blood of Christ), and the authority of God (Jesus who would establish his Church on earth and proclaim the message spread to all corners of the earth).

Jesus refers to himself as the Son of Man… this is only used in 2 books of the old testament… God calls Ezekiel the son of man…many times… but then in the book of Daniel, which is a prophetic book, Gabriel refers to the Son of Man: “Understand, O son of man, for in the time of the end the vision shall be fulfilled” (Daniel 8:17). Which has been interpretted to not only show humility for God coming to earth as Man but also as God(fully divine).

There are many more examples of this in the scriptures…
