The Myth of Hitler’s Pope: Pope Pius XII and His Secret War Against Nazi Germany

Rabbi Dalin is a credible source both because of his Jewish identity and because of his academic credentials which include a doctorate from Brandeis University. He refutes in page after page of documented facts the great and repeated lie that Pope Pius XII was sympathetic to the Nazis. The truth that emerges again and again from each documented fact is that Pius XII spoke out against Nazi racism both before and after he became pope, that Pius XII instructed papal diplomats to aid persecuted Jews in the occupied nations of Europe, that he contributed money to aid desperate Jews, that he opened Catholic facilities in the Vatican and in other parts of Rome and Italy to shelter thousands of Jews from the Nazis, and that he gave direct face-to-face orders to protect Jews from the Nazis. This book is so well documented that Pius’s detractors have to either put up or shut up. In fact, the detractors should apologize and formally retract their slanders

Nietzsche, Prophet of Nazism: The Cult of the Superman–Unveiling the Nazi Secret Doctrine
Abir Taha, currently a diplomat and a “doctorante” in philosophy at the Sorbonne University, is an expert in Nietzschean thought. For years she has extensively read, studied, and analysed Nietzsche’s philosophy. She has written several studies and dissertations on philosophy and political theory, particularly Nietzschean thought. Whereas most Nietzsche scholars ignore the spiritual dimension of Nietzsche’s philosophy, the author contends that there lies the essence of the great German philosopher’s work. She thus put special focus on Nietzsche’s spirituality, which is deeply influenced by Greek and Indian philosophy. Having deep knowledge of Western and Eastern esoteric thought and the influence of esoteric schools on current political ideologies, the author underwent extensive research on Nazism and its occult roots, paying special attention to Nietzsche’s influence on what she calls “Esoteric Nazism”, thus unveiling the Nazi Secret Doctrine and establishing a clear link between Nietzsche’s philosophy and Nazism as a spiritual Weltanschauung. The author is currently publishing a book in French entitled “Nietzsche’s Coming God, or the Redemption of the Divine”.

]Nuremberg Trial Proceedings Vol. 1
Indictment : Count Three
The Nazi conspirators destroyed 1,670 Greek Orthodox churches, 237 Roman Catholic churches, 67 chapels, 532 synagogues, etc. They broke up, desecrated, and senselessly destroyed also the most valuable monuments of the Christian Church, such as Kievo-Pecherskaya Lavra, Novy Jerusalem in the Istrin region, and the most ancient monasteries and churches.

On the territory of the Soviet Union the Nazi conspirators destroyed or severely damaged 1,710 cities and more than 70,000 villages and hamlets, more than 6,000,000 buildings and made homeless about 25,000,000 persons.

Thanks for the well-written and well-presented post.

I’m currently in the market for one of the latest books clearing Pope Pius XII’s name following the now-discredited anti-Catholic smear campaign against him.

Has anyone read the Rychlak books on this subject and if so could you provide some feedback.

I would like to purchase either the Dalin or the Rychlak book and am looking for info to make a purchase decision. I know they’re both excellent books of non-fiction but could someone comment on the Rychlak books so I can decide which one best suits my particular research needs.

Thanks in advance

A little tidbid that R. Dalin omits:

In 1948 or thereabouts, after the war, Israel Zwolle, the chief rabbi of Rome, and his wife were baptized when there was no particular political advantage in it. He took the name Eugeio, Pius XII’s baptismal name.

Would he have done so if P12 had been collaborating with the Nazis?

The rabbi in question is employed by a very conservative Catholic university. If you are going to disucss his credentials, you should also mention that fact. I have not read his book but I critiques that I have read on it suggest that it is a bit thin on factual basis for his conclusions.

DAVID G. DALIN, an ordained Rabbi, is a Professor of History and Political Science at Ave Maria University in Naples, Florida. He is the author or co-author of several books, including The Presidents of the United States and the Jews (with Jonathan D. Sarna) and Religion and State in the American Jewish Experience. He received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, his M.A. and Ph.D. from Brandeis University, and his Rabbinic Ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America

Brandeis was founded in 1948 as a nonsectarian university under the sponsorship of the American Jewish community

Okay thanks for all the info.

I’ll start out with the Dalin book. The Rychlak book seems very good but no one wrote back. It sounds like Dalin references the earlier Rychlak book anyhow.

It doesn’t concern me that Dalin has a Catholic employer. You’d have to be kidding to suggest he was under duress to produce the book - a Jewish Rabbi with a Brandeis Phd and he couldn’t quit and find another job??
If you start looking at the motivations, you should consider Cornwell’s. He had a LOT ($$$$$$) more motivation to lie than Dalin.
If Dalin were financially motivated, he would have quit his job, written an anti-Catholic book full of lies ($$$$$$), and retired quite comfortably.

I didn’t mean to suggest he was under any kind of influence or duress. Just that I don’t think he should be given too much credit for the fact that he’s a rabbi defending a pope. I haven’t read the book. I admit that what I have read on this subject leads me to take a dimmer view of the Pope’s actions than what Dalin apparently believes.

Maybe if you read Dalin’s book, you might change your mind.

Let me add that it’s very easy at 60 and more years remove to say what someone who is dead SHOULD have done in a very difficult situation.

Pius XII is the one who actually had to deal with the situtaion. Not you. Not me.
