what makes a sin a sin? and what made you sure that these people in heaven are not married?

The Word of God tells me so. If you even ‘desire’ in your heart, to commit adultery or any type of fornication not allowed by God, you have already ‘committed’ the sin. The Word of God states that there is no marriage in heaven.

For your info, all people in heaven will be married. All of them will enjoy sex and love and everything they enjoyed in this life. We muslims dont believe that this is a dirty thing or somthing to be ashamed of . Heaven to us is a perfection of this life. meaning that it has all beautiful things and no bad things. It is not some spiritual realm . It is a real place that include everything that can please humans including spirituality and prayer to God.

On this earth and for the reason of procreation ín early creation, God has permitted men to marry their sisters for an interval of time. It was normal back then . It isnt normal now.If marrying one’s sister and having children with her ( which is an aknowledged historical event in all abrahamic religions, which is somthing totally unthinkable now) was ok and normal untill God changed his law , wouldnt God be able to increase the number of partners people in heaven have without that seeming ubnormal too?

God promises whatever he pleases . he is not restricted by a narrow vision that says sex between humans is dirty . He created us and he made us man and woman and made us drawn at each other. if we do it in the rigt way ( marriage) then he blesses us and make us happy. he offers us to get married in heaven . so what ?

Rid your mind of the steryotype of the Muslim heaven , it is a palce of marriage and families , not men walking around checking ladies out.

BTW and FYI God promisses us to marry uin heaven not just for Jihad , every single bieng in heaven is married . and people who fight for teh right cause dont just get married to beutiful ladies but they have more luxury in heaven in other ways. God promisses women to marry as welll, if they have niot married in this life they will marry in the after life beautiful and handsome husbands and they will enjoy themselves sexually, spiritually , socially and in every other way.

Some people who died in martyrdom will have more than others and it depends on teh judgement of God , depending on their sacrifices and faith. There is nothing wrong with that .

One could twist logic by saying the companions are a gift of happiness from Allah, but, as I said, it would not work. One can certainly be a king and queen without wealth and servants, for, as Christianity teaches, true wealth and true riches is in having God and sharing in His beatitude. But I know Islam dosen’t teach this. Again, we come back to Allah: Is he sufficent for man? If so, why the need for material or spiritualized wealth? If not, than how is Allah a god? For if one god exists, than, philosophically speaking, that god must be sufficent enough to do everything and be all that is good, or else, lacking in an attribute, there would need to be another god to make up for the lacking attribute, since the universe clearly shows such and such a thing (like justice) exists; so if God is not just, than there must a God of Justice elsewhere, for, philosophically and theologically speaking, God must be the Source and Summit of Justice, be Justice Itself, for something cannot by itself come from nothing; it must come from something, even if from nothing, and that something is, of course, God. There is the main difference between Christian thought and Muslim thought when it comes to the afterlife. We, as Christains, understand the the reward of heaven is unity and closeness to God that is not hampered by our sinful nature. That is true happiness. All the sex (which is not a sin in the correct context), food, wine, music or whatever cannot add to that. Muslim thought seems to be that the happiness of heaven is the ability to have and do everything that was forbidden here, and GOd is an afterthought.

What companions?! Angels are created by God o worship him and to follow his orders whatever they are . We don’t know if they will cease to exist or not.

Allah creates what he wants . Allah creates heaven for believers . The boys you are talking about are created in heaven and theya re srvants and not some sort of sexual pleasure.

First , heaven is different than earth. In heaven , everybody is wealthy beyound imagination . EVERYBODY.

Your wealth doesnt go ro decrease if you spend all time worshipping God . You are reasonning based that wealth consumes a person because he loves it so much because he is afrain to loose it. he didcates all his time to preserving it and enhancing it that he for gets god. yes he is sufficient and he is God. Allah has decread the existance oif heaven and hell. It is HIS will that we are what we are . It is his decrea that he worship him. However it is his decree as well that we live and enjoy life.

I have never heard such trash in all of my life. If everyone in heaven is rich, what would anyone do with the wealth that he/she has? Wealth is a ‘medium of exchange’ Are we supposed to start all of the corruption now found on earth, all over again in Heaven? Will we have to pay rent to God, in order to occupy the mansions that He provides, or pay for clothes, heat, light, power,food, etc., etc…? (Maybe it is to provide for the many virgins not assigned to a murderer.)

You have not explained what happens to the muslim widows/widowers of spouses that have gone to hell instead of heaven (per your belief). Do they now have to purchase a new spouse with their wealth?

Since the Israelites are the chosen people of God, and eventually, all Israel shall be saved, are you saving up rockets here on earth to deal with them in heaven?

No, but there is something missing from Muslim thought (no offense to Muslims): logic. Logically we have sex, food, wine, etc. for our bodies needs, not just to please ourselves, because God could have created us another way, so we didn’t need sex to procreate, or wine to keep our stomaches well, or food to give our bodies strength and life. All the corporal things can be explained scientifically, science can give good reasons for them - and rightly so! But this appears to go over the heads of some (not all) Muslims, who believe sex is for pleasure, wine is for delight, etc. Certainly God has given us everything for our happiness, but He has not given us animals or food or reproduction for eternity: it is only temporal, only corporal, and as science teaches, all corporal things are temporal: the moment you’re born you begin to die, the moment a fire is started it begins to exhaust, the moment the universe was created it began to age. This isn’t to say God is not omnipotent, but rather, God has created such a continuum for us that we might, in seeing passing things, cling to He who dose not change. It’s logical, it’s simple, it’s basic philosophy.

To say Heaven has temporal things could work if our bodies needed temporal things. Perhaps Muslims believe that after the resurrection our bodies will still need food and wine and such. But we Christians believe our bodies will be like the angels: unable to die, no need for food or drink, able to pass through doors, able to go anywhere just by willing it, and still have free-will (our free-will will be purified, we will only will to do good, whatever good we so choose). Since our bodies will be incorruptible, we won’t need food or drink or anything else. All we will need is God. Maybe He will give us food and drink for our pleasure, out of His Mercy, but I doubt it. Why? Because God is our food and drink, metaphorically speaking. I also seriously doubt we’ll be married in Heaven, since Jesus has said there is no marriage in Heaven, and, if no marriage, than no sex. And why no sex? No need to reproduce. And since everyone will be united to everyone in God (for He is Unity itself), there won’t be need for sex in the sense of physical unity. Hence, no sex in Heaven, and if no sex, than why marriage? The whole Book of Revelation is symbolic. The river of life is God, and drinking from the river means having eternal life. The fruit of immortality is Christ, and eating the fruit means partaking of the Eucharist. The whole book is filled with symbolism that alludes to Christian worship and to Heaven. It’s all symbolic, none of it is to be taken literalistically. We don’t believe an actual beast will rise up out of sea in the last days. We do, however, believe the New Jerusalem is a symbol for the Church Triumphant, which means the community of believers (the saints) in Heaven.

Interestingly enough, the last book of the Bible (Revelation) is symbolic, just as the first three chapters of Genesis are symbolic; three symbolizes completion, hence, the first three chapters of Genesis means - more or less - “the whole account of creation”. It’s interesting that the last biblical book and the first three chapters of Genesis are symbolic because the Bible begins and ends with mystical symbolism, which gives the impression that there is more to the Bible than just stories and heroies: it is the Word of God, it is God to speaking to us through the words of Scripture. It could also be said that Revelation ends where Genesis begins: creation, a new creation: God created heavens and earth in Genesis and He created a new heavens and earth in Revelation. This would be a good symbol of God’s active role in history, His divine Providence, His eternity, and, ultimately, our total dependancy on Him, He being our beginning and our end, our source and our summit, our life and our everything.

your allah promised you that you can have anything you want? What if you want one of mohammed’s houris, or little boys? Or what if you want mohammed himself?

I don’t consider islam an ‘Abrahamic’ religion either. So, your whole premise falls short. allah isn’t the God of Israel either. God never promised that He would make women eternally virgins for murdering thugs, or to give these same thugs some little boys.

The aura of goodness over what is just wrong, is mind boggling how muslim after muslim do it. Just because mohammed did and said so is also where the whole thing is based on.

So, mohammed didn’t have anything in this life to give to men to fight and kill for him so he promised what made life in an Arab desert seem like heaven. None of islam follows the previous prophet’s message, in fact it is changed quite radically - starting with what is sin because that had to be redefined because mohammed broke so many commandments. allah couldn’t keep its own story straight. allah couldn’t even manage to tell its slaves whether or not getting killed for it would bypass predestination. mohammed certainly was ok with that since they died fighting the ones he hated.

This post covers some of the sira and it shows that there was no, to little, concern over other’s pain. Just make sure to follow mohammed’s will and he throws out a bunch of promises.

No miracle, no consistency in mohammed’s allah, mohammed showing us that he lied quite often in the sira (broken promises), etc.

How true. The Catholic Church protects the beauty and holiness of sex.

Many others in the world want to make it into something it is not, objectifying women, having casual sex simply for pleasure, getting rid of the “inconvenient consequence” of sex via abortion, using contraception to remove the probability of creating life, using sex to sell products, etc.

The whole Book of Revelation is symbolic. The river of life is God, and drinking from the river means having eternal life. The fruit of immortality is Christ, and eating the fruit means partaking of the Eucharist. The whole book is filled with symbolism that alludes to Christian worship and to Heaven. It’s all symbolic, none of it is to be taken literalistically. We don’t believe an actual beast will rise up out of sea in the last days. We do, however, believe the New Jerusalem is a symbol for the Church Triumphant, which means the community of believers (the saints) in Heaven.

Interestingly enough, the last book of the Bible (Revelation) is symbolic, just as the first three chapters of Genesis are symbolic; three symbolizes completion, hence, the first three chapters of Genesis means - more or less - “the whole account of creation”. It’s interesting that the last biblical book and the first three chapters of Genesis are symbolic because the Bible begins and ends with mystical symbolism, which gives the impression that there is more to the Bible than just stories and heroies: it is the Word of God, it is God to speaking to us through the words of Scripture. It could also be said that Revelation ends where Genesis begins: creation, a new creation: God created heavens and earth in Genesis and He created a new heavens and earth in Revelation. This would be a good symbol of God’s active role in history, His divine Providence, His eternity, and, ultimately, our total dependancy on Him, He being our beginning and our end, our source and our summit, our life and our everything.

There is nothing evil in what he said. He just doesn’t agree with you. Create a different thread on this subject - I bet you will get a few who have a few opinions on this subject! You sound like the muslims who think we are evil because we don’t think the koran, mohammed or allah are holy, a prophet or a god. Of course the difference being that neither of us put a label on each other (kufir) and make you eligible to be killed! :bigyikes:

I don’t know about too much more on this subject. The muslim men don’t want to give up their 72 virgins, the muslim women think they will get something other than spectator rights - who knows what, and the others think it is easy to debunk.

Also , 72 virgins are not mentioned in Quran ; but Hadith.

So is the 72 virgins thing a teaching or is it not. Either way is ok w/me, not that any Muslim would care what a Christian thinks.
