The Mass isin’t about you or me, we shoulden’t be putting in comftoriable padding on the kneelers and seats, and we certianly shoulden’t have music because people like it, traditional music all the way. In fact I have five additional proposalsnot only for the Mass, but the Church at large.

1-Change the official language of the Church to an African language, like Swahilli, Latin was fine while Europe was the center of the Church but now Africa and the developining world is becoming the heart of the Church, we should have one universal language, and it dosen’t matter if we can understand it, so why not an African language?

2-Not only should woman wear head covers and not wear swim suits, which can draw men to sin, they should wear Burka’s, the Burka will promote modesty and help save men from sin, and keep those said men from drawing woman into their sin.

3-Not only shoulden’t the church be a place of physical comfort, which draws attention away from salvation, it should be a place of discomfort. A blasting, frigid AC during winter and scorching heater in the summer(nothing dangerous, just uncomftoriable) will remind people better they are not here for us but for God

4-The Church should push for greater restriction on speech. Freedom of speech and religion allows non-Catholics to prostalitize and sway sould from the Church. Billy Grahm has led numerous souls from the Church, he should be in jail. Anyone who preacher anything outside strictly orthodox Catholicism, andone who Blasphemes should be arrested, and “Churched up” before being released.

5-It should be illegal or the media to publish any criticisms of the Church, or promote any religion besides Catholicism, anything short of this may lead souls from the Church and to hell.

What do you think?

as the Latin Mass is to Hard?

Or did you mean TOO easy?

Darn these vernacular languages. Too hard to read. 😃

Dear Ivan. You are a stitch. Maybe in time. Love your humour. Says it all. 🙂 Peace

Somewhat:)

I am also genuinly looking to see how Traditional Catholics respond to this.
You are gonna be in biiiiiiiiiig trouble with the Trads. By the way, I do still like the Latin Mass. Was raised with it. 🙂 Peace.

Several times on this Forum, when certain Catholics tell us that our goal shouldn’t be to “enjoy” the music at Mass but rather, to “participate in the sacrifice of Our Lord on the Cross,” I have told them that they should go to LifeTeen Masses and not enjoy the music because this will help them to develop the denial of self that they want contemporary music lovers to develop.

Then I have to go to Confession and confess being a smart-aleck online.

Well, I think you meant ‘too easy’, not ‘to easy’, but I’m not the greatest speller in the world myself, after all.

What do I think? Well, as a piece of satire it will certainly resonate. There are some who will find it offensive, some will find it amusing, some won’t care much at all.

Will it ‘get a reaction’ from ‘trads’? Perhaps. Is this really something that you feel obliged to do? Why? To ‘shock them?’ Make them ‘laughingstocks’ to the enlightened? Just to enjoy people fighting over ‘little things’ so that you can feel superior?

There are lots of ‘answers’. Perhaps your reason is a combination of some or all of the above; maybe it’s something totally different. I’m just an average person; I don’t know everything.

I just don’t understand though. . .and this is directed at ‘all sides’ if you will, not at any one group in particular. . .why there is so much venom directed at what some people prefer (particularly when both the Ordinary and Extraordinary Form of the Mass are both perfectly valid and licit), to the point that the insults, mockery, and nastiness among a certain few posters from each ‘side’ make a mockery of their claim to "Christian behavior’. . .when 99% of us, whatever our personal preference of Mass form, just want to be left alone and respected as fellow Christians without being made to feel like we’re lower than dung beetles by people who supposedly are our brothers and sisters.

I personally think that in order to find the answer to this, one would have to actually enter the mind of some “Trads.” and some so called “Modernists”. Quite frankly, I don’t want to go there. Too much confrontation, not enough love and understanding. I get too upset reading the posts. Imagine how terrible it would be to actually “enter” their mind sets. 🙂 Peace

I have no idea:shrug:

It was SOMEWHAT satirical, however I genuinly want a response from traditionalists, I’ve listened to their argument for a long time now, and I was one when I was younger, I think that, with the exception of the Swahilli, all are within the logical consiquences of their reasoning.

With all due respect, I see plenty of condescending attitudes towards non-Traditionalists, as though they are ChristianLights, however that really wasen’t the point, what here is poorly reasoned or out of line with traditionalists thought

Oh, now, now. There might be a lot of peace that could come out of understanding each other better. When we are honest, we know it can’t be any uglier inside anyone else’s hearts and heads than it is inside our own! 😃

The zeal in the zealous, in spite of how its effect hit us initially, might be quite inspirational, once it is understood. Besides, look what a short adjustment turned Saul into Paul! And even Paul, saint though he was, had to be kind of irritating at times. He was a pretty strong potion to take. St. Jerome was, too, by all accounts. Sanctity doesn’t make everyone into a little flower like St. Therese. God wills that some of His flowers keep their thorns.

The people who irritate us the most could be just that close to being our greatest saints. They might be there already. God is always doing something that surprises the pessimist in us. You never can tell!

While you’re at getting rid of European languages, get rid of the European (Roman) Liturgy and make everyone conform to the Chaldean or Syriac–or better still, Ethiopian Qorbano.

You are toooooo kind Easter Joy. When I see Popes being called heretics, when a poster says a Pope has “tainted” everything he has touched, I say that is beyond what is Christian, let alone Catholic. I don’t need the anger that fills my heart nor the stress. 🙂 Peace.
