**The Ocean of Humanity
**
I see a gigantic ocean filled with all of humanity,
Billions of people, but each with an individuality.
Both the still living on Earth, as well as the deceased,
Some forgotten, some remembered, the great, the least.

In this ocean, there are many different regions and streams;,
Some seem like nightmares, others seem like good dreams.
Each bringing advantages and difficulties to drops caught within,
Providing numerous opportunities for both virtue and sin.

In this ocean, each drop is a person deserving respect,
Whether famous in this world or considered a defect,
For each person is created by God, unique and with value,
So each should be individually honored and fully loved too.

In this ocean, each person has many choices to select,
Including how they will treat others, with scorn or respect,
With kindness or violence, with love or out of inner greed,
For their choices will influence how their life will proceed.

In this ocean, each drop is surrounded by many others,
Who can treat its neighbors poorly or as if as brothers.
Some choose to be sharks consuming their neighbors;
Others choose to be dolphins helping the strangers.

In this ocean, some drops consider others totally worthless,
And destroy them for momentary advantage or success;
Other drops see the value of each and every individual,
Enhancing each drop, improving the one and the ocean overall.

In this ocean, there are special regions for the drops deceased,
For in dying, the drops’ lives have not for one moment ceased.
They have been transformed, still interacting wherever they be,
Still influencing other drops within the ocean for all of eternity.

In this ocean, God shares Himself where He is wanted truly,
Transforming drops interiorly, deeply, and thoroughly,
For each drop He values immensely and loves perfectly,
Wanting only the best for each drop both now and in all eternity.

Nice, but I don’t see any similarity to an ocean here except “there are many human beings” and “there are many drops of water”. Many aspects of your poem actually contradict your ocean analogy, e.g. talking about people dying.

Nonetheless, thanks for sharing.
