Yes there was a flood but was it global meaning the entire planet or global meaning covering the known world. There is no teaching on that.
Yes Noah existed or do you think God made a covenant with a mythical figure?
Yes there was Adam and Eve (not actually their names) meaning that we are all descended from one set of parents. This is a Church teaching.
Yes we are obliged to believe that God created the universe out of nothing. This is a Church teaching.
No we not obligated to believe God did this in six literal 24 hour periods. This definitely is not a Church teaching.

What are you trying to say?
Church teaching is based on Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the Magesterium and Catholics must accept such teachings.
Are you saying teaching should be from Sacred Scripture only and that the Church is wrong.
I would please ask for a coherent answer as your posts so far have been babbling and incoherent. Probably why nobody else has joined the discussion.

As many have pointed out to you in other threads, for example, the Church does NOT teach we have to believe creation happened in 6 literal 24 hour periods. We are free to believe that or not.

Where the heck do you get these drivel from?I was Taught by my diocese, I went to a a diocesan bible school- I was certified by my bishop and Cardinal. But of course they were wrong and you’re right! Why should I listen to any of the tripe that you disperse into the air? These are" weird concoctions" is current catholic biblical scholarship which Benedict XVI is very familiar with has not disgarded nor has he censured and utilizes in his books.He exegetes scripture which a biblical scholar is supposed to do which you seem to oppose…He studies it from all angles not just literally.You are free to do what you want with Genesis.Believe what you will. I could care less.But don’t call down damnation and heresy on all those who don’t think like you or delude themselves into thinking that the church thinks like you. It doesn’t. “Divino Spiritu Afflante” and “Dei Verbum” should give you an insight.
