**Has anyone seen this movie? If so, how do you think the Church was portrayed in it? It bothered me that the devil’s helpers were all priests and nuns (except the nanny and the Jackal!)… but also interesting when the priest was repenting and saying “Drink His blood daily! It is the only defense against the Devil! Go to mass!” I was expecting to be scared to death because satanic things really scare me, but this movie was very tame. I always want to see how the Church is portrayed. I would say a little of each . Anyone else care to comment? **
Well, yeah… it does deal with satan and demons by definition. I find it interesting to see if the Church is portrayed as the good guys, or the bad guys. In the past, I believe the Church was seen as the force that could defeat demons and satan. Priests were usually the good guys. But in this movie, the priests and nuns are in cahoots with the devil (of course!). Until the end, when one repents. I guess it’s a sign of the times.
