If most of the world is against you, then we know we are doing the right thing, we are the one and only true faith.
By that line of reasoning Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses are also the one and only true faith.

When the mass changed and rules of the church changed, that was a huge error. The traditional mass was from the beginning and will stay the same to the end!
These statements were shown to be in error, but your response was to attack the poster. That says a lot.

I have all the answers to all your questions, believe me. I could spend all day answering your questions, but I will respond later, I dont like to spend all day on the computer. I will respond to your questions at a later time. You have not answered my questions. You need solid proof and you have none. I do and will give it to you, all your answers were weak.
Another dodge.

I was just checking my emails before I head off to work and I saw your remark. Its really too bad people judge others. The reason for my not responding at this time is because I have to go to work. I am more than willing to respond tomorrow, if you are interested. If not, please dont waste my time.please let me know.
God Bless

I can be patient. However, the answers should be pretty simple and should take less time than a post that says you will answer them.

How is it alright to receive the Sacred Host (Jesus Christ Himself) by the priest putting the Host in our hand and then we put it in our mouth. We should not be touching the Host. Was this done in the beginning. no!
Do you mean to tell me that at the Last Supper, Jesus put the bread on the outstretched tongues of the Apostles?

God Bless
You work part-time… And you’re the mother of a toddler? Did Mary work part-time? 😛 I don’t mean disrespect. I’m just saying that cultural differences are okay, they are not immoral, and we can all work together. You say “Pater Noster,” “I say Our Father.” 😉

Our Church is UNIVERSAL. There are many flavors and styles that are all still CATHOLIC and in communion with Rome. Are you in communion with Rome?
God is omniscient. He knows all languages. He made all people. A teeny tiny bit of instruction in cultural anthropology will explain the changes in styles over the centuries.

9nicole, if you really are interested in the traditional worship, perhaps you should look into the SSPI (Society of St. Pius I).

Their motto is: “To be any more trad, you’d have to be Jewish.”

Here is an excerpt:
Don’t be fooled by PHONY “Vulgate” neotraditionalists, who claim to protect tradition, and yet still defend the RADICAL and totally UNCATHOLIC reforms of the 4th century A.D. So-called “trads” pretend to be against the modernism of the last hundred years, but where were they when the original Rite of Rome, the Greek rite USED BY ST. PETER AND THE APOSTLES was being totally gutted and revised by unknown scholars and translated into the vernacular language of Latin?
Unlike other wimpy neotraditionalist groups who attach themselves to various other Piuses, we at the SSPI make absolutely ZERO compromises with modernism. We reject not just one, but BOTH “Novus Ordos”-the Novus Ordo of 1970 promulgated by Paul VI, and the Latin Vulgate Mass of 400 A.D. promulgated by Innocent I and Pope Gregory I, which we call the “Vulgar Mass.”

this whole thread is hilarious!!!

hold in there 9nicole! Don’t give in!
Dip, Dodge, Dive, Duck and Dodge!

(although what’s most amusing is how the questions are being posed in this thread - it’s as if some posters are salivating to have the chance to open up a big ol’ can of rightousness or something)

HeeHeeHee…
You’re right. When we see a post like the OP, we do tend to get a weeeeeee bit defensive.
What I like best is that she made a post full of “statements”. Then wanted to know why no one would answer her “questions”.
Well we’ll see tomorrow. Should be interesting.

Peace
James

indeed!
lol, i think this whole thread is just ridiculous- i’m just gunna sit back and enjoy the show.

I think mocking the OP is not appropriate.

Her questions and statements are valid and important to her. That should be respected.

Freshman 88,
The topic at hand is a good one.
Nicole has some strong opinions. She should learn how to share them, plus be able to defend her opinion with some good reasons to back it up.

It’s up to her to decide if she accepts the authority of the Church or not.

I’m not against the TLM at all. What I am against is folks who say they are Catholic, but whose beliefs supersede the Church. Nicole needs to know how she is coming across.

Her argument is a valid one, and she’s getting practice defending her opinions. She’s not the only one who holds her views. Unfortunately, our Church isn’t the True Church just because someone thinks so, or feels strongly about it.

Answer the question, how can you change God? Where does it say that it is ok to make changes to the mass, the one God started. The modern church has made the rules much easier for Catholics, no birth control, dress how you want. Did the Blessed Virgin Mary wear pants or dress immodestly? How is it alright to receive the Sacred Host (Jesus Christ Himself) by the priest putting the Host in our hand and then we put it in our mouth. We should not be touching the Host. Was this done in the beginning. no!

I dont say this out of ignorance, I am just trying to reach out to people.

Yours sincerely!
I agree. I follow the Church because of the Papacy, however I think that right now our Orthodox brothers are being more traditional.

You have some good points, however the Church has changed to much. It was at it’s best at the Council of Trent.

Perhaps you are right.
I apologize to the 9nichole for my unchristian comments.

Tomorrow will tell if 9nichole wishes to have a sound discussion or not.

Peace

LOL! That’s rich given this post.

There ya go!
There’s a statement.
“The Church was at it’s best at the Council of Trent.”
People could discuss that with arguments on both sides.

It’s still an opinion. It’s okay to differ on our opinions, as long as we still hold true to the one True Faith in the Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. No need to schism over it. 😉
