It is none of my business how religious Mel Brooks might be. I don’t think that really factors into his work, anyway, and that’s kind of my point: Hollywood is all about money, not some Jewish conspiracy to attack Christianity. So even if they Jews control Hollywood, it doesn’t really mean anything. The article you linked says that more people used to believe in the “Jewish Hollywood” idea, and this was years ago when Hollywood was still producing films which did not mock Christianity. Did Hollywood become more anti-Christian because of Jews, or is a matter of anti-Christian sentiment being more acceptable among the (largely gentile) movie-going public than it was in previous eras? Either way, I don’t think you can chalk it up to Jewish control of the media, which is ultimately what the article you linked points out:
well you are wrong my friend because jewish people do control hollywood as you see by the article I gave you and also do actually control the media. not only that but It is not a conspiracy its just that the jews dont like Jesus Christ and really cant stand what we christians believe in so they will attack us. obvouisly you know on television people disrespect christian and since that television is funded and controlled by jews you can see they want to attack christians and hollywood is about money but it does not mean they dont attack us every chance they get.

I agree with the article that you posted that the majority of Hollywood is controlled by Jewish people, in the sense that the studios are run by Jews. I also agree with the article that you posted that this does not constitute a conspiracy.

But, yes, of course Jews are against Christianity. They are Jews. And we, in turn, are against any mocking of our faith, which does happen in Hollywood movies. I say we should hit them in the pocketbook. The USA is not Israel. We are the majority and they are not. They will respond to pressure from Christians, if enough of us care to actually protest the garbage that they make (which we should be doing anyway).

But this is all somewhat different than the thread topic, which is the servile actions of one Hollywood director which is deplorable and should be similarly condemned. Do you have anything to say about that?

i think you misunderstood my post. when i quoted him as saying he doesn’t believe in organized religion, i didn’t mean that he doesn’t think that organized religion exists. everyone knows we have organized religion. to him, organized religion is useless.
he obviously is afraid of muslim extremists or he would have taken out a symbol of Islam as well. i don’t think that he destroyed anything pertaining to Judaism either - so he didn’t want to offend any Jewish colleagues in Hollywood. however, Christians are fair game.
Well, let’s get real here. There are a few billion Christians on the planet. Only about 16 million Jews, in spite of their PR. Most of the English speakers who attend his movies will be Christian…or at least products of a Christian society. So…he targets the icons familiar to them.

I wonder—just how many people would RECOGNIZE that square rock thingee if it crumbled to dust? Wouldn’t someone have to pause the movie/action and EXPLAIN it? Nobody has to explain the Cristus in Brazil or the Vatican. I mean…there it is, instantly recognizable, visual, nobody has to explain anything…

…and what Jewish iconic symbol do you think would be that instantly recognizable? (Come to think of it, the destruction of LA pretty much counts for that, given the Jewish influence in the movie industry, don’t you think? )

Not being afraid to die does not absolve you or anyone else of their responsibility or culpability if someone else dies because of your actions. Anyone unwilling to accept that is not facing the totality of consequences of their actions. Go raise your right hand if you want to prove that you are not afraid. Until then, quit talking, and go and actually do something about it.

Oh, for the love of Pete.

It’s a MOVIE. Since when is it a good idea to put your life on the line for a stupid disaster movie?

thank you for understanding what I was saying. back to the thread topic 2012 director Roland Emmerich is a homosexual atheist which he admitted himself so I guess we should realize that he will attack us Catholics. Its just sad that he was afraid to show Muslim sites being destroyed he is truly a coward. It is not right to attack anyone but still like many other people said if he doesnt attack the muslims then he shouldn’t attack us neither! hopefully many Christians will not support movies that attack their faith in ay

“Well, I wanted to do that, I have to admit,” Emmerich says. “But my co-writer Harald said I will not have a fatwa on my head because of a movie. And he was right. … We have to all … in the Western world … think about this. You can actually … let … Christian symbols fall apart, but if you would do this with [an] Arab symbol, you would have … a fatwa, and that sounds a little bit like what the state of this world is. So it’s just something which I kind of didn’t [think] was [an] important element, anyway, in the film, so I kind of left it out.”

Translation: “I’ll walk all over Christians because they don’t kill you, it’s against the Ten Commandments, but I won’t walk over Arabs because Muslims will come to kill me.”

Humm; I saw the movie with all it’s superfluous Hollywood glitter and fanfare. The movie wreaks of secular humanism in telling it’s secular version of the Apocalypse. Emmerich to me is obviously Anti-Catholic.

Here’s a critical review of the movie that is worth the read:
