About five years ago I converted. I was Baptist before and converted and my wife is still Baptist. She also doesn’t want the kids raised Catholic and I can’t exactly force that issue without disrupting our home life. I also live a long way from any parish so it’s quite a drive to just get to Mass.
Nobody goes to Mass with me. I go early by myself and come home and go with them to the Baptist church so we can be together on Sunday.
I really had no idea how lonely this path would be. I see other families together and involved at their parish and there is nothing there for me unless I want to just leave my family for the day to go do things by myself at a church function. I think that this has led me to be very uncaring in my faith and feel like there is no one listening to my prayers. I feel completely alone in this.
This isn’t the worst problem in the world, I know, but I guess I just need to know that there are others out there in this situation and see if there are some ways to make this work.
