My prayer’s better than yours. 
Sorry, it just had to be said! 
All I can tell you is that I was very heavy into Operation Rescue at the end of the eighties and the short version worked wonders at protecting me. Remember, I live in California and we’ve got some pretty rough and sinister pro-aborts 'round these parts. As a matter of fact, the people who normally go to DC for the March for Life were in shock at the pro-aborts our here. After death threats being phoned to my home, bruises, etc. I’m positive that this short version works just fine. The satanic (and I mean satanic) folks surrounding us at these events and even in our homes were never really able to inflict more than a small bruise or two.
What’s really the point of this thread. Is it once again to show that a Pope changed the liturgy which is well within his authority to do so? It would seem that you’re once again exuding the submission to the Holy Father that Pastor Aeternus calls for. (That was sarcastic don’t ya know?!)
BTW, Margaret Sanger had quite a following long before the long version was dropped from the Mass. How do explain that? It must mean that the old prayer was defective.
