I’m aware of how the same incremental steps happened in society at large and in other churches. The Catholic Church is populated by fallible lay and clergy, many of whom support these kinds of innovations.
 
Let the Pope, along with Pope Emeritus Benedict who has lived through a lot, handle this. The Vatican is acutely aware.
 
Good point about the evolution of language in keeping with new ideas. Once there was no such developmental period as adolescence and no such word. Same with the term “emerging adult” today. And retirement did not exist; you worked until you dropped. There was also no middle age, and the concept of child as opposed to adult did not exist in the home and especially in the workplace. Finally, these changes in language apply mainly to Europe and North America. Other cultures have other evolutions in language.

Some action right about now would really make that awareness obvious and demonstrate concern for all the confused faithful. Action like reigning in certain folks who are increasingly bold in pushing all things lgbtqetc.
 
Pope Francis has been very clear about LGBTQ. All anyone should do is read what he wrote. The Church proposes, it doesn’t impose.

They think that changing these things will fill the pews or give them some 15 minutes of fame in the media. Many clergy are left-leaning here in the US. Rarely do any of them publicly take on a tough topic that would earn them shame from the liberal media (abortion, same-sex marriage, gay pride events, etc.). But they easily support causes championed by left-leaning politicians at the drop of a hat (open borders, “climate change”, abolishing the death penalty).
