I have a lot of trouble with the OT and recently saw it referred to as a collection of tribal law which made a lot of sense to me. It was written for the Jews by the Jews and, when written, was never meant to apply to any other people(s). Which, IMO, seems to indicate it’s lack of value to anyone other than a Jew. It’s not my history as I am not Jewish. I just fail to see how it is relevant at all to Christianity (which I have doubts about, but that’s another issue) other than the parts that are viewed as prophecies about Jesus. I mean no disrespect, I’m just curious. Is it that Christians feel thay they can’t really throw the whole thing out because of the prophets?
