The other tragedy of the China earthquake

As I was sitting here praying for the victims of the recent earthquake in China and the myriads of aftershocks…I was just thinking about how many children were lost. A complete generation of children because most of the Chinese families are only allowed one child per family. For some families it will be the end of their family line. I feel so sorry for their loss and the loss that will be felt for decades to come. May God grant them healing. Not only that, dozens of Christian (Catholic) churches were totally destroyed as well. More reasons to pray for their rising up from the ruins.

You are so right. It must be absolutely devastating, for so many parents and families. "Amen’ to your prayer for their healing.
I didn’t know about the churches. May God somehow prevent this awful tragedy from causing anyone to lose faith, and may the Spirit cause the Church arise in greater strength, as you say.

Here’s the link about the Catholic churches damaged by the earthquake and how the Christian community in China is responding. The crisis grows daily doesn’t it with 200 relief workers being buried by mudslides. Let’s keep up the onslaught of prayers.
