I’m British, Catholic and now live in the Philippines. I’ve been blessed to have been able to travel to many countries. Here in the Philippines and many other Asian countries everyone holds each others hands (raised up) when praying the Our Father at Mass. I haven’t really noticed people doing that in Europe. From a personal viewpoint I feel that holding hands makes sense as the Our Father is a family and community prayer but on EWTN I watched a show with Father Pacwa and he said we are not supposed to hold hands during the Our Father but should individually hold our hands up to God.
What is the Church’s ruling on this?
