For the Christmas Mass, we went the other way, we recited the our father instead of singing, the Monsignor specifically said it was for all the visitors who might not know the version we normally sing - which got me thinking, when its sung, we sing ‘forgive us our sins…’ When we said it, it was ‘Forgive us our trespasses…’ I guess trespasses doesn’t work so well in song!

Even on Christmas, there are things to learn!

My parish is now singing it. I am not completely fond of the arrangement currently used for it in my parish but it may grow on me.

Used to sing it years ago. A familiar tune that we sang for years and only 50% or so joined in. I decided, with approval, to stop singing the Lord’s Prayer and have all recite it. When we did, some complained, but now everyone (well, at least 95%) respond. I like that!

Yes, my home parish do not sing it, but the Oratory I often attend sing it at every Mass, in the appropriate language (Latin or English), the local Jesuit community also do, depending on who the priest celebrant is, as do my local Dominican Parish.
