Just to share…

One thing I like to observe around Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, but more more especially Maundy Thursday, is to look up at the moon. Passover is determined by the phases of the moon, and, hence, so is Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter.

In a way, when you look up at the moon on Maundy Thursday, you are seeing the same annual moon phase Jesus saw after the last supper when he was in the Garden of Gethsemane. It is a sort of “natural” prayer, I think.

That said, I know I am a little late in sharing, since I try to remember more the Lord’s Burial on Good Friday evening - but the moon phases don’t change so much in a day you can’t still get an idea of what it was like the night of Maundy Thursday.

Pax.

I just happened to have my camera with me after Holy Thursday services and thought the moon was beautiful.

Your post made me think of the Garden of Gethsemane and I wondered if Jesus saw the moon like this through the Olive trees that are plentiful there.
