"The Passion" Live on Fox

Watching it on TV tonight. I give Fox lots of credit for attempting a live version of the Passion, on TV, and in New Orleans. There’s only so much you can do in 2 hours. Some of the parts were previously taped due to logistics but the procession of the cross through N.O. is live as are the stage performances. The music is very good and I am enjoying it. Looks like the crowd is into it as well. Anyone else…?
 
I’m watching with my family. I know they’re trying, but just isn’t jiving with me. Or maybe I’ve just watched Mel’s version too many times.
 
I really enjoyed it. Found it very moving and I don’t usually like modern interpretations and music.
 
I am pleasently surprised that FOX did turn over the night to something new and not a veted movie from 50 years ago that there would be a lower fear of a backlash against.
 
I absolutely loved it! I was very moved by it. From tears to clapping. But then I like contemporary music. I liked it so much better than Mel Gibson’s version.
 
Did not watch, had no desire to watch. Why do people shy away from The Passion of the Christ by Mel Gibson? Too gross? Too “controversial”? Passion Week is not some guy dying in a feel good story. It’s God Himself DYING for mankind.
 
I found this a fascinating and original take on the story of the Passion. Tyler Perry has the star power to pull it off, and New Orleans as a “modern Jerusalem” was a gutsy move. This is a production that could reach people who would never go to see Mel Gibson’s movie.

The fact that there was a 20 ft. cross carried through the streets of New Orleans - even Bourbon Street and the French Quarter - was an amazing sign.

I think that - no matter what our tastes - we can rejoice in any project that brings the Good News to millions. Kudos to Tyler Perry and Fox.

I don’t know about you but the ultimate good news of salvation for mankind ends up as a feel good story for me.

I read that the churches were staying open afterward for anyone who wanted to come in and talk. It was a very good evangilization vehicle.

More power to them.

AGREE now it doesn’t have the impact that "The Passion of the Christ did’ but that is ok. I just watched i online. I tired to watch earlier today before church but I didn’t get into .it . iwas distracted

THe good news of Jesus was proclaimed. THAT IS GOOD. It wasn’t a theology lesson but there was t ruth
 
It’s a good way to introduce people to the story. My grandchildren are all under 7 and no way would I sit them down to see “The Passion” to introduce them to the Passion story. Even people who know nothing about the Passion would be better served to see a more sanitized version first.

It’s too get people interested in the story and in Jesus.
