I have been a Catholic several years now but what still confuses me is “The Passion”. What part of Jesus’ life was his “passion” ?
I believe Last Supper until Christ’s death.I have been a Catholic several years now but what still confuses me is “The Passion”. What part of Jesus’ life was his “passion” ?
The passion of Christ starts at the Garden of Gethsemane right after the last Supper and concludes with his death at the Cross.I have been a Catholic several years now but what still confuses me is “The Passion”. What part of Jesus’ life was his “passion” ?
The Passion of our Lord Jesus is more closely related to His last hours on earth. It was in these hours when if you can say “all hell broke loose”. The powers of hell decided to give Jesus this direct suffering. The greatest deed ever done for us and for our salvation was not that Jesus went through with this but He was willingly to go through with this. Remember it was His decision to undergo these sufferings for us. Jesus stated that no man takes this life away from Him but that He had chosen willingly to accept what would come to Him. His willingly to undergo sufferings does make me stop and wonder. I am at awe that Jesus was willing to suffer all these pains for our redemption. The Eternal Father would bless us in accordance to the sufferings His Son had to undergo. This tremendous sacrifice our Lord was willingly to undergo for us had tremendous value and merit.I have been a Catholic several years now but what still confuses me is “The Passion”. Yes, I think so too. The church does enter a solemn mode starting off from Palm Sunday, which carries through Holy Week. The thing is, personally I don’t think that the Passion started in Gethsemane. Just a thought, but perhaps we could make a case that the Passion of Jesus really began once He stepped foot in Jerusalem.
