I have no idea how many of you are aware of the main Catholic Answers apostolate. But perhaps you’ve listened to their radio program, and have heard of their old host, Patrick Coffin.

Since somehow, for whatever reason, I’ve seen no mention of it here on CAF, I’d like to remind you of Patrick’s new project: patrickcoffin.media.

Of course we know Patrick Coffin!
I’ll be keeping an eye (and ear) on his stuff.
It looks like he wanted greater freedom to do his own thing and fight the culture war in ways that are beyond the scope of Catholic Answers live. And I think that’s great.

There is so much great media from Catholic Answers and other apostolates, though, that I have a hard time keeping up with all of them now. That said, I’m not complaining! Let the voices of life increase!

I saw parts of his show on youtube… what did he do with all the donated money? His set looks super low budget.

I saw he asked for money. I wasn’t sure what it was for, since its virtually free to do a podcast. Ditto for a website unless it has very high traffic (which might be the case, I don’t know). Perhaps it is to support him doing this full time without the financial help of Catholic Answers. And I suppose that’s fine.

Yeah, I donated money, I’m just a little confused as to where it went. My best guess is that he hired a technician for the audio and video stuff, but in these days that stuff isn’t overly expensive or complicated, so I don’t know.

I wish him all the best, he managed to get some pretty decent guests for his first shows. He needs to find a way to make the video part more stimulating though, one hour of split screen continuous conversation isn’t much to look at. I’m more of a podcast type person anyway.

I suppose you could just eMail him and ask him.

Me too. Audio is much more versatile- I don’t have time to watch to hours of video podcasts or shows every week. But I do have time to listen to a few hours while I’m walking, driving and so forth.
