This is something I personally haven’t encountered, Thank God.

Show me where you live! I want to be there yesterday!

I live in a small community, in the mountains, blessed by a faithful pastor, although in the summer we have a couple of priests who spend the school year teaching. They have a slightly more liberal view of the liturgy and obedience to the church. But they don’t appear to have a homosexual bent.

What a fabulous column! It should be required reading for every Catholic. I am stunned to read things like some Bishop contemplating spending a million bucks to determine the cause of the abuse crisis. Hello! The elephant in the living room is lavender

Actually, I think that a large part of the cause is not catechising people on the importance of chastity in all aspects of life. If we had better education regarding the fact that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and that this Absolutely requires Chastity, according to our station in life, it would be harder for the priest to allow himself to opt out of this critical teaching of the Church.

IMHO,

Is there anything we can do…

I would never want to be another Martin Luther, but someone has to do something…is there any effective way to pressure the Bishops? Any way to expose the problem without destroying the Church in the US?

A priest is suing the Archdiocese of Miami:

Assuming the charges are true, I hope he wins. Maybe the next time an homosexual priest harasses a chaste, holy priest the diocese will pay attention. Money seems to be the one thing that gets their attention.

What about one specific formal day of protest…faxing or emailing letters to all the Bishops? I wouldn’t want this to be a media circus but letters coming in drips and drabs don’t have the same effect…

This is not a bad idea. I don’t think Catholics have ever been that organized.
