Please define “the poor” and in what ways do we fulfill our obligation towards them.

“The poor” are people in need, in any way, shape or form.

Read the life of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta in how she bring love those who are called the “poorest of the poor”. You might find the meaning of the word

I would have to say it’s a subjective term. Whoever does not have what YOU have is poor to YOU. That could include material things or family, friends etc. Whatever they are truly lacking, if they are in need, of course. I don’t mean that if you have three cars and they have two that they’re poor, lol. I mean Jesus Himself gave us the formula, “If you have two cloaks, give one to the one who has none at all.” Then there is the issue of the poverty ridden. No one of us can save the whole world. But we can have a ripple effect. Imagine how awesome if every person in the world, or even just half the people, helped 1 person.

Start looking for places that minister to the poor. Maybe you can do some of clerical type work for the, also, go through your closet to take out what you done’t wear anymore. Donations like that are a big help. It may seem it’s so little, but if enough people do it there would be a huge impact.

Think of all you have. Everything you have. Every breath you take and every cent you have and every bite of food and sip of water you take. Then think of those that don’t have what you have. God will take care of you if you take care of the poor.

Caring for the poor is Christian in nature. Mother Teresa a great model for caring for the poorest of the poor. The poor in ‘spirit’ are also need considerations as they seem to lost their morals and christian identity. :extrahappy:
