Just read that the pope has had more people attend his speeches and Masses and line the streets of Washington D.C. and New York City then Billy Graham had in his lifetime. 👍

Where did you read that? Do you have a link?

The Pope has certainly drawn huge crowds, but more than Billy Graham in his lifetime? I doubt that.

do you mean that the pope, in one appearance, has had more than billy graham, in one appearance?

or do you mean that the pope in one visit has had more than billy graham in all of his appearances added up?

incidentally, billy graham spoke to over 1.12 million people in june of 1973 on seoul’s yoido island (as measured by paper grids glued to the ground with each square estimated to be large enough for six to twelve people).

pope john paul II would later speak to a larger audience, but billy was the first to ever speak to a crowd that size.

so what the heck does any of this matter?

Well, there you have it then–The pope wins. 🤷

Why is there so much competition on this board? This place sounds like an elementary school’s playground at recess…on a bad day!

I’ve enjoyed watching the people who’ve seen the pope. They all look so happy.

Did you notice that they had to hold the nuns back while the pope was leaving St Patrick’s? Funny. 🙂

Have any of you been to St Pat’s? It’s beautiful. I haven’t been to a mass there, but I visited on a Sat. afternoon and lit a candle for my mother. That memory is still with me, and that was 30 years ago.

I think it must mean that the pope wins. lol R will have to tell us what he won, though, because the rest us didn’t even realize there was a competition on. 🙂

I took a look at your profile. If it’s not too personal, would you mind sharing with us what made you leave the Catholic Church?

Well, what did Billy Graham do to you to make you say this? What does this have to do with anything? To show that the CC is better?

I mentioned this post to my Catholic husband and he said so what, what does that have to do with anything? Billy Graham is still a good man - it doesn’t make him less.

I mean I am just blown away - why would this even be posted? What’s the point?
