Hi 🙂

my friend sent me an email yesterday with this information saying that the Pope is a freemason. You might know that the Church has traditionally been against masonry and in fact Pope Benedict himself said, when he was cardinal, that any Catholic who’s a mason is to be excommunicated.

So I’m wondering if there’s any way to refute this, and if this is true or not… do you guys know?

fl0wer.net/blair_meets_with_pope

the reason that bothers me is because of articles like this:
chantcd.com/doct/destroy_church.htm

and various messages from (approved) apparitions, like this:
thepopeinred.com/secret.htm

and this:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Lady_of_Good_Success

where Our Lady warns us of this sort of thing, but also she said that in the end God will win the war, and that when things look their darkest, she will triumph.

but I don’t think that the Pope is a freemason cause - he spoke against it, and also, because he talks so much against relativism and modernism and that’s a big part of the masons…the Pope is very traditionally Catholic I think…that’s why some people hate him!

so…
what do you all think, and what’s up with the “secret handshake”, is it even real?

thanks!!

also, what about this?

Anne Catherine Emmerich (1774-1824), a German Augustinian nun, stigmatist (bore the wounds of Christ), and miracle-worker, who subsisted entirely on water and Holy Communion for many years, received numerous visions of the future crisis in the Church and the infiltration of the Masons. In her visions, she describes men in aprons destroying the Church with a trowel, The Masons wear aprons and their symbol is the Mason’s trowel. The following excerpts are from page 565 of Life of Anne Catherine Emmerich, Vol. 1, by Rev. K.E. Schmö:ger, Tan Books, 1976:

"I saw St. Peter’s. A great crowd of men was trying to pull it down whilst others constantly built it up again. Lines connected these men one with another and with others throughout the whole world. I was amazed at their perfect understanding.
"The demolishers, mostly apostates and members of different sects, broke off whole pieces and worked according to rules and instructions. They wore WHITE APRONS bound with blue riband. In them were pockets and they had TROWELS stuck in their belts. The costumes of the others were various.
“There were among the demolishers distinguished men wearing uniforms and crosses. They did not work themselves but they marked out on the wall with a TROWEL where and how it should be torn down. To my horror, I saw among them Catholic Priests. Whenever the workmen did not know how to go on, they went to a certain one in their party. He had a large book which seemed to contain the whole plan of the building and the way to destroy it. They marked out exactly with a TROWEL the parts to be attacked, and they soon came down. They worked quietly and confidently, but slyly, furtively and warily. I saw the Pope praying, surrounded by false friends who often did the very opposite to what he had ordered…”

sorry so many questions, but my other question is… in Our Lady of La Salette… does it mean that the Papacy will end someday, and that the Vatican will be taken over by the enemy?? but…doesn’t that go right against Christ’s promise? yet the apparition is approved!!!

am I just not understanding?

No, you can not prove he is not a Mason. You can also not prove is not and alien who only looks human, or a futuristic android sent back in time to destroy us.

All these outrageous claims has the burden of proof strongly on the person making the ridiculous accusation.

With sites like thepopeinred should tell you that information given on its site is a load of garbage

Every pope during my lifetime has been accused by someone or other, usually by some splinter or nut case fringe “seer” group, of being a Mason. I don’t believe it now any more than I believed it of any of the others.

The Papacy will not end. It may not be centered/located in Rome, but it shall never end, until Christ returns.

I agree with you that the Papacy will not end until Chris returns. I however believe that Pope will always be in Rome unless there was a reason that the Pope couldn’t be in Rome

Monica ,

Do you really think the pope would do a masonic handshake in front of the whole world if he really was a mason? Look at the picture again thats not a masonic handshake. Thats the pope just giving a quick little handshake, much like alot of older people do .

This pope is way too orthodox and conservative to be in line with the masons. also remember the fact he’s spoke against them a few times. If the pope was really a mason he would be moving torward liberal policies like one of your articles states not away from them.

I do believe Freemasons at its highest levels are trying to destroy our Church. I also believe the Masons have a pretty firm control of Culturual trends, Our Mainstream Music, and Hollywood. But the Church they do not.

Years ago I ran into folks who claimed Pope Paul had been kidnapped & an imposter put in his place. They even had the photos to prove it.
Some things never change.

There’s no such thing as a masonic handshake.

Furthermore, visions of mystics are NOT authoritative statements fo the Church.

Hello i am a robot sent from the future to warn you that Pope Benedict xvi is actually a terminator sent back thru time to kidnap kittens and to steal your cheese.

A couple of things, would a freemason create this?

Secondly, from the pictures the site had “proving” that the pope is a freemason it looks to me that he was presenting his had to be kissed. Just a suggestion… but in any case, it is beyond impossible for Benedict XVI to be a freemason, it’s not his thing.

Is the Pope a freemason?? Why do you ask such a silly question? Starting a thread on this implies you as a Catholic might think there is some truth to it.
Its absolute nonsense! Why should baseless nonsense be refuted?

I wouldn’t read too much into a handshake. I’ve shaken many people’s hands and had my hand in a non-standard-position. Sometimes, you just grab the person’s hand the wrong way, or they grab yours the wrong way. Sometimes, this is due to one or both people being older and suffering from arthritis. In other cases, you get an odd grip on that occasion. I’m pretty sure I’ve shaken people’s hands with my thumb in an unusual position, but I’m not a freemason and I wasn’t trying to give a secret handshake. It just happens sometimes. If I always had photographers around me snapping pictures, I’m sure they would have some photos of some odd handshakes. If I were a public figure with many enemies, someone would probably try to use those photos to “prove” I was a member of some wicked sect.

Just a digression from the theme of this thread, and yes, it’s ridiculous to accuse the Pope of being a Mason…but there is a Masonic hand “clasp”. I know because I used to be one, when I was young and stupid (and not yet Catholic.) It is rarely used, but it is part of their initiation ritual.

Terminator? kittens? Cheese?

Terminator: Hasta la mewsta baby! shoots cheese rocket launcher

"You can also not prove is not and alien who only looks human, or a futuristic android sent back in time to destroy us. "

This made me smile.

hmm interesting… would you say that it looks anything like those pictures?

but just to be clear, I don’t think the Pope is a Mason.
