When you say that the state of our church demands the question, I have to ask you what you feel the state of the church was in times past?
Since I did not live in the past I cannot say with any certainty. I suspect, in the past, one could expect to receive truly Catholic advice from one’s priest. I suspect obtaining a good spiritual director was not more difficult then winning the lottery. I suspect homilies concentrated upon the Gospel reading rather than the upcoming sporting event. I also suspect that the Mass was not the weekly commedy hour.

I recall the P2 scandal in Italy. They came close to a coup, if memory serves.

It’s not absurd to day there a freemasons in the Vatican. The Pope dwells in a land of Masonry, mafia and has his own wolves within the fold as well (Eastern bloc infiltrators and liberal clergy).

He really needs our prayers.

What you are saying highlights the problem. Many Catholics like the OP seem obsessed with scouring the internet looking for anti-Catholic issues like subject matter of this thread. Whenever they find something their immediate thought is that it might have some truth to it. Why isn’t their immediate thought that its rubbish? So many Catholics are gullible when presented with nonsense like this.
I didn’t “scour the internet” looking for information, someone was trying to convince me that the Pope is a freemason.

People who make that claim are usually sedevacantists who want to discredit the pope because he isn’t traditional enough for them (he doesn’t wear the papal tiara, he participates in interreligious dialogue, he celebrates the Novus Ordo, etc.) I don’t typically listen to these types of people.

Don’t worry, you did nothing wrong. Their is nothing wrong with asking questions at all and most people should be ready to help you find the answer but others will only look down on you for asking. Just ignore those people and go on. I to have many questions but will never ask anyone here because some here just give Catholics a bad name.

You are so correct.

Speaking as a Freemason, I can assure everyone here that the Pope is most definitley not a member of the fraternity.

Do you really think the pope would do a masonic handshake in front of the whole world if he really was a mason? Look at the picture again thats not a masonic handshake.<<
There IS such a thing as a masonic handshake. Freemasons themselves admit it!

As for Benedict XVI being a Mason, ahem, while I do not say that he is a Mason (because if he was, he’s doomed), I do say excuse me but I do not think I’m breaking the rules that he is:

a) not a good pope,
b) he definitely is not traditional. I have seen many instances where sedevacantists claim he erred against faith and morals and, I’m convinced that he did(although not saying that he’s an anti-pope).

Freemasons can’t be trusted! I say this half jokingly and half seriously. Freemasons, especially high ranking one’s(Master Masons to the 33rd degree one’s) are not to be trusted. They are the most evil, diabolical people that have ever existed and that will ever exist(no offence gamewell).

If you are a low ranking Mason, I tell you to get the heck out of that madhouse. Many prominent people are freemasons, but these prominent people are also the greatest villains ever. Geroge W. Bush and his father, George H. Bush are skull and bones freemasons(the Americn Branch of the Illuminati). These traitors pulled 9/11 and they knew what they were doing (and no, I am not anti-american. It’s ridiculous to say that. I’m just saying that Bush and almost every American president that existed were very bad people).

They are also, incredible as it seems, satanists. Albert Pike, in a serious of instructions towards his masonic brethren (stooges) admitted that they adore Jah-bu-lon (the devil).

Pius IX was NOT a freemaosn. he dismissed this lie as one of the biggest whoppers ever made against His Papacy. As for Benedict XVI, well, I found this Masonic blog, an open letter to Benedict XVI. I know a little French but, they call him 'much loved dear brother", they deny that the Catholic Church is the true Church and all that Masonic rubbish.

And please don’t be unfair. I am not a sedevacantist but, they don’t discredit him for not being traditional enough. They just think that, becuase he fell into heresy he is not the Pope, according to the document Cum ex Apostolatus Officio, which is not a disciplinary document.

I really don’t understand how any Catholic can be so gullible to believe such rubbish or even think there might be something to it that they require proof its not true.
Grow up!
What a cold and uncharitable reply. Did you even take time to note the date of the OP ? Or read the thread ? Casting stones isn’t Catholic second nature either is it ?

A person asks a question, and gets “grow up” as the answer ?

Define a good pope. What would you have him do ? Ban the OF and force priests to take a crash course in Latin in order to pray the EF ? Look what happened when he lifted the excommunications of the 4 SSPX Bishops. Wolves howled. You think he can make them change their ways overnight ?

H.H. freeing the EF of indult, setting an example of reverence by giving COTT, allowing doctrinal issues to be discussed means nothing ?

If you were pope, what would you do ?

You state he fell into heresy ? What heresy ?

I think we agree on the danger of Freemasonry, but you appear to be masking ill intent toward our Holy Father. Why post a link to such rubbish ?
