Are all plenary indulgences the same, or is this one dfferent in some way? Thanks.

Plenary indulgences means the remission of the entire temporal punishment due to sin. Any plenary indulgence does this so in that way they are the same.

Is Eucharistic communion necessary on the same day of the blessing for a plenary indulgence?

I’m truly sorry that I can’t tell ya. But it sure’d be a good idea. The priest that told me about the indulgence did not mention so my guess would that it aint required. Always good to go though.

God bless

According to this, it isn’t.
  1. It is appropriate, but not necessary, that the sacramental Confession and especially Holy Communion and the prayer for the Pope’s intentions take place on the same day that the indulgenced work is performed; but it is sufficient that these sacred rites and prayers be carried out within several days (about 20) before or after the indulgenced act. Prayer for the Pope’s intentions is left to the choice of the faithful, but an “Our Father” and a “Hail Mary” are suggested. One sacramental Confession suffices for several plenary indulgences, but a separate Holy Communion and a separate prayer for the Holy Father’s intentions are required for each plenary indulgence.
But the tricky one is always
have the interior disposition of complete detachment from sin, even venial sin
;

Usually plenary indulgences carry with them a requirement to receive Communion and Penance within a week or some other reasonable time period and a sincere wish to be free from attachment to all sins include small sins.

Sorry, someone posted the same basic thing a minue before me…
