Does Pope Francis actually do his own Tweets? Or are they written by an assistant then approved by him? Or does he compose them and vet them with a social media advisor? Just curious.

I don’t know if there’s any way for us to know for sure, but I would assume he has assistance with them in some way. As far as I know, he doesn’t even have a computer in his office, so he would at least need someone to actually type it into Twitter. 😛

My idea is that the tweet begins with a quote by the Holy Father.

Then the quote is translated into the various languages that the Pope tweets in. I believe he tweets in 9 different languages. And then the person in the press office sends out the tweets. I doubt the Holy Father actually does all that work himself.

Pope Francis has reportedly never been on the internet and has not watched television in 25 years. He will be 79 next month and has been a professed Jesuit for 55 years. His life is very different from most of us.

Pope Francis officially said he made a vow to Our Lady never to watch TV or use a computer

He said he does not watch TV or own TV
That he does not use a computer, own a computer or has used Internet or has ever used them.

He made it as a special vow in honour of Our Lady.
