We went to see The Post today. It is a beautiful, inspiring film about a bygone time that informs current events and some of the dilemmas that face the USA today. Women of a certain age (of which I am one) may be reminded of their younger days and be struck by how much things have changed - yet in many ways remain the same.

The theater was sold out. Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks are great - as usual. Go see it and post your thoughts here.

Your loss, in my humble opinion… maybe you’ll see it when it comes on tv,… I know; not on cable…

What’s your objection? The publishing of the Pentagon Papers was one of the great victories of the Free Press.

I am not a fan of Meryl Streep or Tom Hanks. The liberals are taking advantage of the hysteria now around Trump and comparison to Watergate and now we have The Post.
Tom Hanks said he would not screen this movie at the White House. Hollywood needs to get over itself.
I am glad you liked it. I am sure it was well made, but I will not donate my money
towards these people.

What does it matter who the actors are? I enjoy movies with Vince Vaughn and Tim Allen (Galaxy quest is one of my all time favorite movies), and they’re conservatives. I can separate an artist and their art.

Most conservative Hollywood actors don’t preach to the American people like the
Hollywood elitists do. I used to be a fan of Tom Hanks, but he is a sellout.
Robert de Niro, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and the list goes on and on. I just see them
as fools.

Really? Ronald Reagan did not have a few political things to say? Movie actor turned President of the United States kind of outweighs a few comments by others. Then there is Arnold Schwarzenegger as former Governor of California. And of course Clint Eastwood has not been politically vocal right? Oh! And let me not forget Charlton Heston.
Personally I prefer the political comments of Bob Hope! It did not matter which political side you were on. He was going to make a joke about it! 😆

It’s your choice. I think it looks like pretty good movie

It probably is a good movie and one I might even have wanted to see 10 years ago, but
I have become very jaded since then.
