I thought we could use a “poster’s prayer” here.
Something that would help us be thoughtful and charitable in all our responses.
Help to Calm us when we “need to count 10 before we post”, because of something someone has said.
And just in general, give us time and a nudge to consider how we respond to others so as to better explain ourselves.

Here is my thoughts - I’d love to hear other ideas.
Almighty Father, I your humble servant, ask you to enlighten me so as to be a good communicator of Your love in each word I post.
Send your Holy Spirit to me this day and guide me in Your truth.
Guide my hand in all posts I write, that I may communicate clearly and in all charity to others.
Help me remain calm when others speak ill of You, or Your Church.
Give me the insight to understand how and where I can be of help to others through my posting.
Give me the right words to touch the hearts of others and draw them closer to the fullness of faith in You through Your Church.
I ask this in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Peace
James

Thank you, James for that wonderful prayer. I will try to say it before any time I post. Then it will be the Spirit, not me who is praying and speaking.

God bless you in everything,

Trishie

Trishie & James:

And, Dear Lord, please help us to realize that, because we are using keyboards and not looking at each other face to face:
  • We often can’t see our misspellings until AFTER we’ve posted them - Which means others can’t see theirs either,
  • We can’t see how what we say effects others, which means something we think is charitable & good may not be received as such, and
  • Because of that, please help us to give each other the benefit of the doubt, and the most charitable interpretation possible, when reading each other’s posts here.
    Amen.
That’s my own two cents, because “Love covers a multiple of sins,” (1 Peter 4:8) and, “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” (Proverbs 15:1)

Your Brother in Christ, Michael

For your intentions

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen

Thanks for the 2 cents and well said.
I just recently had one of those situations myself and needed to apologize for my mistake. It was completely unintentional, though if I had taken a minute to reread my post I would have likely caught it.

James:

Reread your posts twice & edit them a third time & maybe even a forth, and mistakes still will make their way through, which is why I said to give each other the benefit of the doubt and the most charitable interpretation possible. We never know when we’ll need the favor in return.

Remember, it was your namesake who said. “Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger. For the anger of man worketh not the justice of God.” (James 1:19-20 DRC 1899)

You wouldn’t believe how many posts haven’t made it to being posted because of that rule, or how many paragraphs have been deleted either before posting or in editing…

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His Holy Spirit fall upon you with renewed grace.

Shalom,

Your Brother in Christ, Michael

I mostly try to take that advise, but sometimes…
But thanks for the support.
