The power of one Rosary

Well, call me skeptical, but I usually don’t put stock in any private revelation that usually combines commands from our Lord, our Lady, or whoever with quantities and legendary anecdotes.

The Rosary is good and powerful. Anecdotes like these, I seriously have my doubts (a lot of them actually sound, on the surface, to contradict authentic Catholic teaching, e.g. good deeds outweighed by sins. That’s not how salvation works).

If one wants a real, magisterial document on the Rosary, Rosarium Virginis Mariae by Pope St. John Paul II is the way to go. No one writes it like the saint.

The author being quoted is also a Saint.

And he is quoting the experiences, in some of those instances, of the accounts of other Saints.

God’s mercy can transcend His justice. All I see in these stories are instances where Our Lady has interceded for someone who otherwise would have gone to hell, and asked God to spare them. And He did. Nothing un-Catholic about that.

The power of the Rosary is so powerful that the Devil runs away from the person saying, for he fears Our Lady. The Rosary is the best weapon we have wear Our Lady comes to those that are Faith in devotion to her. AMEN :gopray:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art Thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Peace

Amazing! I always try and say at least 1 rosary a day. When I’m at work, I go out to my car during my lunch hour to pray it. I feel so peaceful the rest of the day!

The rosary is a popular devotional, especially if one meditates on the mysteries. But, can anyone show me where the Church commands us to pray the rosary?

Perhaps this is a recurring temptation of mine, but I keep thinking that the Blessed Virgin Mary never said even one “Hail Mary” – she never prayed to herself.

How did MARY pray?

The article implies that saying the Rosary without fully meditation on the Mysteries is almost worthless. I find that VERY offensive. I say a Rosary daily while driving to work, and while driving…and not having any external material in front of you, it is difficult to specifically meditate on each mystery. Are my prayers worthless then? I find that disturbing.

I only posted it to show people how powerful it is. I find it hard to concentrate too, God knows your intentions.

St. Louis is clear that saying the Hail Mary is extremely sanctifying. Even a single Hail Mary is very powreful, as the article says. Of course, if we are able, it’s best to also to pray the Rosary, and meditate on the mysteries. But God knows when we are unable for various reasons. St. Louis is very clear about that in True Devotion to Mary. When I pray the Rosary I have a lot of mental fatigue due to health issues. So I try to mediate on the mysteries as well as I can, but also to rest in the words of the Hail Mary itself, because it is Mary who can help us to understand the mysteries

What A Saint Said
When St. Alphonsus of Liguori was already old, sick, and in a wheelchair, a lay brother used to wheel him around the cloister of his monastery in the evening so he could take some fresh air. Engaging the brother in conversation, St. Alphonsus asked him:
“Did you pray your rosary today?”
“I don’t remember,” the brother answered,
“Then, let us pray it now,” the Saint said.
“But you are already so tired. What difference does it make if we don’t pray the rosary for one day?” protested the brother.
St. Alphonsus answered: “If I did not pray my rosary for even one day, I would fear for my eternal salvation.”

I’ve upped my game since reading this article, trying to do more than one a day, is anyone else?

Nice! Thanks! I try to say it once a day but often times fail, I shall try more and more in the new year!
