I don’t get it. Where’s the homophobia? 🤷
Regular,

Look at how blatant this is…even I can see this…
For those who have recently been elected to pass laws and govern: that their sense of common good of society may outweigh **special requests **and that they may have the strength to follow their consciences.
For children and young people: that we may all help each one of them find his own path to happiness; so that they may cease to be the objects of the desires and conflicts of adults in order to fully benefit from the love of a father and a mother.
Now, I don’t know about you but can’t you see the inuendo about “special requests”…I know it is a generality but you know what they mean…

and then

To suggest that children benefit from the love of a mother and a father…well then there it is in black and white…get it…

Oh, right. Yeah, I see it now, I guess. However, I wouldn’t really call that homophobia. 🤷

The prayer never specifically targets any group. It simply stated proven facts about what circumstances are best for children. 🤷

An interesting thing about France (if you didn’t know):
Marriage has been legally defined in the constitution as between one man and one woman for the purpose of creating a family. As an alternate option to full-on marriage, the French government recognizes PACS – civil solidarity pacts (pacte civil de solidarité), aka “marriage lite;” much like civil unions but with customizable legal terms – that are open to any two individuals regardless of gender.

IMHO, I think France’s experience is very telling that civil unions will not be sufficient for gay marriage activists should the United States choose to pursue that route. Clearly, groups in France are still actively lobbying/striking for marriage open to couples of the same gender even though all consenting adults have access to “marriage your way.”

In other words, it’s becoming clear that these groups want marriage to be open to any two individuals, regardless of gender, even if such a union exists outside of traditional marriage. 😦
I sincerely hope that we don’t legalize civil unions for homosexuals either. I strongly disagree with granting any legal recognition whatsoever to homosexual couples.

Why? You always complain about how they’re promiscuous, or don’t care about relationships, but you don’t exactly make it easy for them either. I also fail to see how you could claim there’s anything wrong with civil unions, since they’re nothing of a religious nature and I can’t think of one good argument that could be presented against them. 🤷

Ah, no I see what they are talking about apparently the French bishops didn’t realize they were using the “code language” for hate. If you haven’t heard about hate “code language” yet I’m sure you will.

Ummmm… How do you consider that homophobic…considering no insults were used against homosexuals? That was probably one of the nicest ways I’ve seen someone express their views. You should see how some real homophobes talk about homosexuals, truly disgusting. I may not agree with gay marriage(I have more of libertarian stance though, my view is personal and not political) but never have I insulted my fellow man in horrific ways. I think civility can be shown on both sides.
