The Precious Blood

Good Morning Church
I have only been at Catholic Answers for two weeks and I find some of these threads amazing. I am so shocked by some that I honestly do not know how to answer them.

There are those of you who would pass up Jesus precious Blood because other folks prefer not to. I do not believe for a minute it is even 50% of American Catholics who pass up the cup. I have been a EM since it was first permitted and have served Mass in many Churches.

Nothing about the Holy Eucharist came from the Protestants.

It is true that Communion is complete under one species but the preferred way to receive Communion is under both. Jesus always specified both.

Worrying about spilling is a stretch. I have picked up half chewed pieces of Jesus Body and consumed them. It is Jesus! I was trained to either consume in this situation or save it for the Priest to, if I was too fastideous. It is so very rare, if the minister is watching for even a drop of the Preceous Blood to spill. We are trained how to prevent that from happening.

Again, Communion under both species is rare outside of the English speaking world, with parts of Europe. In Latin America, Southren and Eastren Europe, Asia and Africa, communion under both spcies is very rare. The Catholic church does not equal what is going on in the US.
