Hey guys this is a new one for me. While discussing and arguing that there are not medically necessary reasons for direct abortion, someone mentioned that they have a brain tumor in which the hormones will cause the tumor to grow. Thus, she says she would have to have an abortion or die. I am unaware of this. Anyone know about it? Is it truly an abort-or die-situation or is there something like hormone-supression treatment? Medical documention (understandable by lay people preferably) would be nice.

Thanks.

Situations like that make me grateful for second (and third!) opinions. If this is a real life situation, she should get another opinion. We’re the consumers; we have choices. —KCT

This is basically the same question as is it morally right to abort the baby if the mother is going to die. Show the person this link. I just read through it and I’m sure that it should help them understand.

Thanks for the responses and the link, but I was looking for something specifically addressing the pregnancy-will-make-my-tumor grow argument.
