There is an atheist friend of mine, he said that christians until today could not solve the problem of evil, why we suffer? We still have not a solution why God allows suffer in this world.

I heard to a priest that it is one of the Divine Mysteries, that we will only know the answer for it after we die. Is that true? But how can we live our lives with this problem stuck?
