The question is whether the sexual scandals , which involved Catholic clergy in America have reflection for the arrival of the Pope John Paul Second to the Eastern countries of the former Soviet Union?
Is it possible to suppose that there were certain forces which wanted to discredit Catholic Church just on the eve of the visit of Pope to these countries ?

i am just curious , if there are some facts that that psychoses and those scandals were ordered from some powers just at that very period .

This doesn’t have much to do with Eastern Catholicism. Further, conspiracy theories aren’t going to solve the spiritual crisis our Communion is suffering from. Rather then run away from it, we have to admit that our faults and seek forgiveness.

i used to think that behind the spirituality there is also politics ,
of course , some times pride and arrogance ( national or ecclesiastic ) is higher than Christ’s commanment. but what i think is that there are powers which do not want christian unity.

Hello

Pope John Paul ll is no longer pope of Rome he past away April 2, 2005. If anyone is waiting for a visit from him they have a very long wait, like never…

united church could be stronger
stronger against secularism and against indifference towards religion
but i think there is a pride
ethnic pride , national pride , which does not allow some communities to follow the Christ’s commandment.
To be English , to be Greek , to be Russian , for many is more important to to be the in united Catholic Church.
this is my opinion

…than to be in the united Church.

but if we talk about this topic
I can not understand , why before the visit of John Paul Second , there was intensive anti-catholic propaganda in Russia and also even in Ukraine.
All those demonstrations , manifests .
If the Church could unite in some ways ( that was an opportunity , which could change the history and could bring the new era in the church history ) , then in the political world it could be the strong spiritual power , with a strong voice of truth.

The Catholic religion could have tomorrow but that means that Roman Catholic religion would have to return to Orthodoxy and recant a lot of things. We are waiting!!! That is the only answer here, we can all talk until we are blue in the face.

i just finished to read the book of Orthodox thinker - Soloviev.
the book is called ‘’ Soloviev - about universal church ‘’ ( СОЛОВЬЕВ - ПРО ВСЕЛЕНСКУЮ ЦЕРКОВЬ )
RECCOMMEND !
