The size of our brain doesn’t explain how we become wise!
The brain is not “yourself”. If it has not developed it cannot inform us of anything but that doesn’t mean that nothing exists! Nor does our inability to remember ourselves mean that we didn’t exist.

When do you think we began to exist?

Our selves are as old as eternity in my opinion. Each self however has to reach to maturity by experiencing evil and good in state of nature (God purpose at lease for this state of being).
