Verisimilitude

The author of the recital the Quran is Mohamed. The Quran’s inspirational spirit co-author is indeterminate, but my supposition is Satan and not Gabriel or any Holy Angel for reasons noted below. Maybe 10% of the Quran is from that spirit and Mohamed made up the other 90%.

I accept the first physical visitation but not so sure about others. Being thrown to the ground and spirit/man-handled 3 times in that cave shows the disdain it has for man unlike the caution/temptations Satan showed to Christ in the desert 600 years before Mohamed.
(Iblees (Satan)) said: “See? This one whom You have honoured above me, if You give me respite (keep me alive) to the Day of Resurrection, I will surely seize and mislead his offspring (by sending them astray) all but a few!”
( سورة الإسراء , Al-Isra, Chapter #17, Verse #62)
Verily, I will mislead them, and surely, I will arouse in them false desires; and certainly, I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allah." And whoever takes Shaitan (Satan) as a Walee (protector or helper) instead of Allah, has surely suffered a manifest loss.
( سورة النساء , An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #119)
Satan is openly boasting to Mohamed because he has convinced Mohamed he was speaking for God so I think Satan was speaking his true intent here as a direct quote accurately reported to the Qurans real purpose; and like Mein Kampf he’s getting it recorded for publication.

The nature of the Korans allah is very different than the Biblical God. Only if Satan is the speaker here does it seem a logical statement.
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of Jinns listened (to this Quran). They said: Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Quran)!
( سورة الجن , Al-Jinn, Chapter #72, Verse #1)
Satan is counted among the Jinn and praise for God from such spirits seems contrary to their nature, so I accept this a as a true statement from the same kind of demons Christ exhibited authority over in the Gospels whose reaction to real Truth is strikingly different than recorded in the Quran.
(Iblees (Satan)) said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all.
( سورة الحجر , Al-Hijr, Chapter #15, Verse #39)
Mohamed adorned the faith by making bigotry and war tacitly sacramental to those who follow the path devised by Satan- the Quran and Islam.

Why are there so many quotes from Satan in the final and complete word that is supposed to be from God, and why do Muslims believe the words of Satan are speaking of Jews and Christians being wrong when he seems to be speaking in the present sense?

There is SOME truth in all beliefs. But it is hard to find.

If there is Truth doesnt all Truth come from Christ, He is Truth and it cannot exist apart from Him?

even atheisits can speak Truth because it (He) is there for anyone to find.

maybe its just what they do with it 🤷

Congratulations on your thousandth post.😃

The OP is an interesting observation. I had not thought of that before. Is this a personal interpretation, or is it from a book you are reading? I’d like to hear this idea elaborated on more.

It is a personal conclusion though it may have been influenced by some of what I have read.

I cannot accept the words of the Quran are from God as I once thought, and as everybody assumes because they claim affinity to Abraham.

I know what you mean, I feel like maybe before I started reading I just assumed that the Qu’ran was Holy Scripture because that’s how people refer to it. And if you look up Islam in an encyclopedia, many times the description says that an angel appeared to Muhammed and . . .etc. It doesn’t say Muhammad thought that . . . or Muslims believe that . . . It states it like it is true just because Muslims say it is.

Besides, you never hear people refer to the Book of Mormon as “Holy Scripture,” even though Mormons think it is.

It seems that the Christian emphasis on reminding everyone that Islam is a monotheistic, Abrahamic faith, and that Muslims are our brothers has caused a lot of people to assume that Muhammad and the Qu’ran have a lot more credibility than they actually do.

When you actually read the Qu’ran or Hadiths, you start noticing that the way God is depicted is . . .limited. In Islam, God appears as limited in love, patience, forgiveness, mercy, and especially humility. I’ve said to myself sometimes, “This isn’t my God. God is Truth, God is Love, God is Perfect!”

I’m toying with similar conclusions to yours. I know Islam is a heresy, and that the Qu’ran is not from God, but I don’t know how active Satan was in it’s creation. I don’t want to believe that God would allow Satan to so grossly and directly distort the true Faith, but I guess it is possible and I know that for whatever reason, the existence of Islam is involved God’s plan for mankind.

BTW, Did you reach your conclusions by reading pro-Islamic material, or anti-Islamic material?

I got my perspective reading the Qu’ran and pro-Islamic books, I wanted to convert so that my husband and I could be the same religion. Then one day while I was reading the Qu’ran I said to myself, “Why am I wasting my time? I want to be Catholic.” That was 3 years ago, and I was baptized this past Easter Vigil.🙂

OneAugustKnight

so back to the blind squirel and any Truth is Christ.

Is there any Truth in it?

If there is Id attempt a guess at this point is was heard and misused or misunderstood. Or enough of it left in to maintain a sort of credibility?? Or Truth that is squed to be not quite right. just guesses, any examples??

This Muslim hadith proves Mohamed did not know who/what frightened him so bad.

When God or His Angels made themselves known to www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=1&chapter=15&verse=1&end_verse=3&version=49&context=context, www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%203:3-6;&version=31;, or Mary it was with a greeting of do not be afraid and often self identification.

I think the Church is wise.

I agree. Common sense tells us it is not God.

If I can accept Satan tempting Christ and the demon spirits Christ exorcised…I can accept it could have happened to Mohamed to be visited by a demon. I do not think he was posessed but influenced.

I don’t think God directs any of His Creation beyond the natural order of their being to include Man or Angels or demons. Look at our natural world; it is alive and just is. Living and dying and giving birth to new life is the Natural Order. Physical interaction between the spirit realm and ours seems rare but not unheard of, and it suggests only the most powerfull are able to do so.

This is a big influence to form my view:
"“And thou, Melkor, shalt see that no theme may be played that hath not it’s uttermost source in me, nor can any alter the music in my despite. For he that attempteth this shall prove but mine instrument in the devising of things more wonderful, which he himself hath not imagined.”- Iluvatar- JRR Tolkien- The Silmarillion pg 17
By unintended insight does that fiction story describe the spirit world I think exists in reality.

I have also read these to name a few. I don’t see them as pro or anti Islamic:
Life and Times of Mohammed.
Jesus and Mohamed

I think this one is just factual, but most say the author is anti-Islamic.
The Myth of Islamic Tolerance

I was at the bookstore after Mass today and picked 3 books:
Mother Teresa- Come be my light.
Why I am not Muslim
and
Who’s who and where’s where in the Bible.
I got my perspective reading the Qu’ran and pro-Islamic books, I wanted to convert so that my husband and I could be the same religion. 👍 Congrats!!!

Since Mohammed ripped off some of the bible, that is why some of the verses would seem true

There is SOME truth in all beliefs. But it is hard to find.
Harder to find in Islam.

One of the few things I credit for Islam is that they stopped female infanticide - but given Muhammed’s liking for young girls, that’s not that much of a positive in the long run.

A wise man once told me that the devil will tell you a thousand truths in order to make you believe one lie.

Even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in a while.
A squirrel gathering nuts somewhere along the road to Damascus can also be momentarily blinded by a bright flash of light and subsequently mistake a pebble for a nut.

A squirrel gathering nuts in the cave at Hira is beaten and given a poison snake.

Nuts to the squirrel thing then. (cant keep up with that)

Jesus said He is the Truth, the Truth does not exist without Him

Its not like Jesus is here and Truth is over there

they are one and the same

so is there Truth in the Quran? if so specifically what is it?

🙂
