The Quran: the word of God and...???

Since Mohammad admitted he was deceived by Satan (the Satanic verses) and these deceitful sayings made there way in to the Quran (the original version, before they were removed) how can Muslims be sure there are not anymore erroneous sayings in the Quran and how can the Quran be considered the very word of God when originally Satan added his own verses?
 
Simple. The Satanic Verses story is a ridiculous medieval myth easily proven false, so Muhammad never really admitted any such thing.

Exclude those ‘Satanic verses’. Do you agree, he got the rest in the Quran from God? Indirectly you agree that there was something before ‘Satan’ adding his own verses. Do you agree in those verse as true words of God? If not, why did you say there was something as original Quran earlier?

No I do not believe the rest of the Quran is from God. I believe somethings from God were “cut-and-pasted” into the Quran, but as a whole, no the Quran is not from God. My statement about the earlier version of the Quran was the version with the satanic verses in them, before they were removed giving you the current version.

So Khalfan, what is your take on the satanic verses? Myth or real event?

Let’s assume you are right. Let’s assume those Satanic verses got their way INTO the Quran. Please note, to say that INTO, you mean that, there was something existed as Quran before those verses got into the Quran. Then you said,

You confirmed there were some as Satanic. You are expecting more, not all, as Satanic in the Quran. Then you said,

You said Satan ADDED his words. To what he added, in other words, the verses existed before he added his words, have to be from God. Do you believe that? If not why? Do you believe, there is even a single word Quran that god revealed to Mohamed (pbuh)? If not why?

Mohemmed claimed Satan whispered words into his ear that were included with what he claims were the words of God. Those lines were, to my understanding, later removed from the Quran and the revised version dubbed the original to avoid an embarrasing fact.

Bottom line, I don’t buy an Angel of God visited Mo at all. At best he plagerized other texts to create his own religion and painted himself into a corner of which he had to lie to get out of or at worst he is nothing more than Satan’s lap dog.
 
It’s the way Muslims explain away a book that has errors in it even though they boldly claim it has none and is from God in perfect form even though it is riddiled with contradictions of logic and other historical errors.

Please read what I put in another thread marked Koran and Contradictions. I explain them away but I dont think Muslims willl like my conclusions.

So, you don’t believe in any words in Quran. Fine, your choice. Then the OP, seperating the words of God and words of Satan is pointless. Look at the thread title itself. 😛

Or you could just read the whole Hadith…

Abdullah b. Mas’ud reported that God’s Messenger said: There is none amongst you with whom is not an attache from amongst the jinn. They (his Companions) said: God’s Messenger, with you too? Thereupon he said: Yes, but God supports me against him and so I am safe from his hand and he does not command me but for good.

There’s a reason why the chapter following this Hadith is titled “None would attain salvation because of his deeds, but it is through the Lord’s Mercy”. The point is that everyone has a good and evil side to them, nobody is 100% good, and thus nobody can attain Paradise through their good deeds alone.

It’s got nothing to do with the Satanic Verses story, if anything it’s a teaching that lines up with the teachings of Christianity quite neatly.

There must have been a time when God didn’t protect Muhammed from the “jinn”; Wasn’t there a time when Muhammed contemplated suicide and said “Woe is me. I am possessed.”? (See the Hadith - Ishaq:106)
