I am a catholic convert with an occult background but also strong protestant family ties I hear alot about the Rapture and being Saved I consider myself saved washed in the blood of the lamb and by my faith in him I will get to heaven but also by living by his laws, but the rapture I cant find biblical proof of I mean it sounds good beleivers going to heaven before the 7yrs of tribulation but is there biblical evidence what does the catholic church say about it?

I believe it was in the 1800s that the rapture was promoted by someone. (I do not remember the name.)

Catholics do not believe in the “rapture”. The scripture is telling about the end times of this world, and the 2nd coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The rapture is a misinterpretation of that scripture.

I wish I can provide this one video proving that the Rapture will not happen, but let me say this:The Rapture is an idea pulled from I think **ONE **passage from the Bible,
and it is used by the sissy and the proud, those who think they are good
enough to be saved and those who are too squeamish to face the horrors
of the Tribulation.
When one reads much more of the Bible, it becomes
obvious that the passage (where ever it is) being used
to prove the Rapture is totally out of context.

That would be John Nelson Darby of the Plymouth Brethern, a concept he invented around 1830.

It definitely started with Darby who got it from a protestant mystic woman in scotland I do believe. Wound up in the study notes of the Scoffield Reference Bible and shazam suddenly everyone using that bible suddenly followed it. You can’t find Biblical proof for it because there isn’t any.

The thing about this secret rapture thing and the whole dispensationalism movement is that invariably it winds up with the Church Age ending and being replaced by something else. Thats just not right.

Catholics don’t believe in the rapture. It is an idea that was created in the 1800s and has weak if any Biblical Foundation.

The rapture is a relatively modern idea, but what is amazing about it is how fast it has spread like wildfire through the protestant denominations. I hope (to God) it hasn’t made in-roads to the Catholic Church.

The Protestant Fundamentalist view of the “Rapture” is that at some time before the great tribulation during the end times faithful Christians will simply vanish and meet with Christ. Their theory is that Christ will gather His elect and everyone else will be left behind. They mostly refer to 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17:

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

However, there is more scripture that directly defeats the interpretation they take from 1 Thessalonians.

Matthew 24: 29-31

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31** And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.**

Mark 13: 24-27

24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; 25 the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send His angels, and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.

There are many more that go against this teaching as well, but for their theory of the “rapture”, would mean Christ would have to come back pick up some people and then come back again for the rest.🤷 Christ is only coming a second time and no one knows the hour or the day. I believe during the great tribulation, whenever that may be, our faith will be tested. Scripture says that we will be persecuted for Christ’s name.

The best you can do for yourself to understand the Catholic position is to read “The Rapture Trap” written by a Catholic convert, Dr. Paul Thigpen, who is an ex-fundamentalist minister. Betcha it will answer all your questions.

Typically, Reformation era communions - Lutheran, Anglican/Methodist, Reformed - are amillennialist, and reject the rapture,as presented by Darby and the like.

Yes. Though I have read a book by a Reformed who laments that the Lutheran and Reformed Churches have not done enough to defend that position especially with the popularity of book sales of the premillennial position in the last 50 years.

Interestingly one of the key arguments used by premillennialist authors is that amillennial is wrong because it is the position held by the Catholic Church.🤷

Yeah. We Lutherans get that a lot. Baptism. Real Presence. Confession/Absolution. The Creeds.

I didn’t know that, but then I have never met a Lutheran (other than online) nor Reformed for that matter as there are only 5000 of each in my country (0.1%).
