Well, it’s May 21st, past six o,clock, and I’m still here. Gosh darn it. Didn’t you feel that earthquake that shook the world from New Zealand? I was for SURE I was gonna be snatched right outta my clothes in secret like the Bible says: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give it’s light. And the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of Heaven will be shaken. Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in Heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn. And they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of Heaven with power and great glory.”. (Matt 24:29-30) See? Totally talking about a secret rapture that nobody will know about until they notice all of the missing people. Talk about a disappointing day…

What do you guys think about this clear misunderstanding of scripture? I almost died laughing when they said on the news that Atheists said they were going to take care of our pets when we were magically whisked away to Heaven.

As a note, I have been praying for this man for a long time so that he won’t lose his faith. I think we all know what happens when a man predicts the end of the world and it doesn’t happen.

Check your calendar again–when you posted this it was Friday, May 20, 2011.😛

Unless you’re not in Kansas anymore…

As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, the famous social psychologist, Leon Festinger, found in his study “When Prophecy Fails,” that when people predict the end of the world and it doesn’t happen, their faith becomes even stronger. This is because they have invested a lot of time and energy in such predictions, so that if they lose faith now that would mean their investment was for naught.

It’s 6 oclock in 8 minutes here. I’m scared. I need to go to confession and get confirmed.

I am somewhat surprised at how much publicity this end times prophesy has received.

How many people bought into it? Who is this guy? How can he persuade seemingly so many people to believe his crackpot theory? I read that some people quit their jobs. Others liquidated their assets.

I think that overall it reflects poorly upon Christians, especially Fundamentalists. There must be a lot of people who are eager for the world to end and are easily convinced.

You’re not safe yet. It’s at 6 PM.

My husband has followed Harold Camping and Family Radio for years, not out of any belief or respect, but because my husband recognizes this man is an enemy of the Church that Christians need to be aware of. One problem that we have as Christians is that we don’t pay attention to our enemies until they attack, and then we have to go into “defense” mode.

For years, Camping has taught that the Church Age is over, and that any “church” is not of God. That includes Protestant churches as well as Catholic churches. So Protestants reject Camping’s teachings, too,

The Church Age is NOT over. We’re living in it. Harold Camping is a false teacher and Christians should pay him no heed.

Finally, my husband did some work this week, and determined that when Camping did his calculations to arrive at May 21 as the date of the Rapture, he ignored the fact that Pope Gregory had to take away 10 days (or was it 9 days?) when he updated the calendar. Obviously Camping didn’t study church history.

I just recently found this out.

He has become a bonafide cult leader and I am disgusted with Family Radio for leaving him o the air. I have lost all respect for them as well.

Do you know there are folks that quit their jobs in anticipation of this?

I grew up on Family radio. I can’t believe Satan took this man so far.

I believe he also predicted this to happen in 1994 and as you can see he was wrong.

Well, he got it wrong 17 years ago so why should I belive him now? lol

I always thought “rapture” would be more, well, rapturous, I didn’t think I would still be sluggish and so in need of caffeine.

I didn’t realize that we would be snatched out of our clothes  Images of 200 million naked people all floating off into the wild blue yonder crossed my mind.😊

😃

My wife and I are trying to figure out if we should be outside at 6PM. Can we go through rafters and roofs during the rolling rapture?

A co-worker of mine said a friend of his is going to scatter clothes throughout the building he lives in so people could get scared that the rapture did occur, LOL.

It’s all well-and-good to make sarcastic jokes about this, but always recall that it is a great heresy which is sucking souls away from God. You may scoff at such a serious remark, but just think about the gravity of this error. It is a grave sin against charity to believe oneself worthy above the rest of humanity. This terrible vice of presumption, this horrible activity of preaching a tremendous but simplistic rapture to all people is causing great confusion and disorder in the lives of the faithful. People are stashing away money and being tricked by immoral people to hand their pets over for hundreds of dollars. Our times are disgusting and debased, and potentially millions of souls are being dragged into the abyss over this selfish idealistic notion.

We absolutely have to be serious and solemn about this damnable error. Rapture-theology is forcing so many of God’s seeds to be cast on rocky ground, instead of fertile soil… 😦

According to MSNBC (that might be a CAF first:p) ---- the commencement of the Rapture begins at 6pm Eastern (US-New York) time. Very considerate I think. 👍

Rapture? What is a “rapture”? <> Hmmmmm…no rapture mentioned. Obviously, somebody forget
to inform the Pope. Very careless of them. Is it just me, or are the
various pseudo-prophits getting really slipshod lately?
