He predicted 1988, also. 3 wrong predictions, hmmm. Food for thought, isn’t it!I believe he also predicted this to happen in 1994 and as you can see he was wrong.

Well, what happened was it was one in the morning and it said it was May 21st, so I got confused out of sleep deprivation.Check your calendar again–when you posted this it was Friday, May 20, 2011.
Unless you’re not in Kansas anymore…
Tim Staples said that when he was raised in his Baptist church they were taught they would be snatched out of their clothes, so that’s why I wrote that out of humor.I didn’t realize that we would be snatched out of our clothesImages of 200 million naked people all floating off into the wild blue yonder crossed my mind.

Honestly, I’d take a rain check on that walmart run and head straight to a local Baptist church to get saved. You can’t get saved in any Catholic church. We Catholics don’t believe in any highly un-biblical thing such as the Rapture, so we can’t get saved.I’ve got to make a Walmart run. My daughter’s graduation party is this afternoon…still getting supplies.
FWIW, according to the Wikipedia article, Harold Camping is the president of Family Radio. When he co-founded it 50 years ago, it was fairly normal fundamentalist/Evangelical station. But in the late 1990s, it shifted heavily towards presentation of Camping’s personal theology… dissonant voices not welcome. He has become a bonafide cult leader and I am disgusted with Family Radio for leaving him o the air. I have lost all respect for them as well.
Honestly…that’s probably as picture perfect a prediction of their response that I have heard.Word is, the Rapturists are rejoicing ! We have been granted more time due to their fervent prayers that we be spared ! The believers have saved the world !
If those convinced of the Rapture had not been so, surely we would have perished by now. So, it’s true !
O ye of little faith, recant and repent !
What are you guys talking about? Did you guys miss it? I am typing to you from heaven! Yep, the Lord came and all of a sudden I was nude flying towards the sky. Heaven is wonderful it’s very cliche, you got clouds, rainbows, waterfalls, lions with lambs, and everyone holding hands singing! lol.![]()
ya think ?Honestly…that’s probably as picture perfect a prediction of their response that I have heard.
I agree so much. :sad_yes:Reading his statement tomorrow and having to own up to the fact that he is wrong AGAIN should be interesting. He cannot avoid the media since he made his millions via the media. One has to think with all his years of bible study he would have come upon Mark 13? Shame on Mr. Camping for the pain and suffering he has caused his followers. Some to the point that they sold their houses, spent their life savings, and wasted their own time to deliver this false message. I will pray for them.
All is well here in Kentucky at 9:15 est, which is Heaven on Earth come to think of it. So I’m not so sure yetWell, it’s 6:11 pm PDT here in Seattle, and all is well…Of course, I haven’t had any phone calls for awhile.![]()
It’s an opportunity for the media to make Christianity look silly as a whole. That’s why it gets so much publicity. It’s called guilt by association.I am somewhat surprised at how much publicity this end times prophesy has received.
How many people bought into it? Who is this guy? How can he persuade seemingly so many people to believe his crackpot theory? I read that some people quit their jobs. Others liquidated their assets.
I think that overall it reflects poorly upon Christians, especially Fundamentalists. There must be a lot of people who are eager for the world to end and are easily convinced.![]()
