The Rapture

It’s an opportunity for the media to make Christianity look silly as a whole. That’s why it gets so much publicity. It’s called guilt by association.

It’s the same with failings in the church - the Church and her people can help millions of people annually via charities and service, and it will be barely reported, but if a single priest is convicted of child abuse, that will make front page news.

Actually, here in Seattle, I have been heartened that the media is doing the opposite of your experience. Instead of lumping all Christianity together in this silliness, they have made sure to only talk about Mr. Camping. Today, they haven’t spoken about him at all.

But I do agree with you, it is often guilt by association, especially if the Catholic Church has a problem.

Honestly, I’d take a rain check on that walmart run and head straight to a local Baptist church to get saved. You can’t get saved in any Catholic church. We Catholics don’t believe in any highly un-biblical thing such as the Rapture, so we can’t get saved.

A co-worker of mine said a friend of his is going to scatter clothes throughout the building he lives in so people could get scared that the rapture did occur, LOL.

Well, back here in the Great Plains of Kansas, it’s 10:07, and there’s no earthquakes.

What I find interesting about it all is that Harold Camping and his fellow disciples haven’t been seen since this morning. Sorta convenient how he and the great disciples are missing on this, the day of the great rapture.

And yes, we should all pray for those who spent the last of their savings driving from one end of the country to the other, quit their jobs in this tough economy, and put them and their families in one of the worst situations possible. Let God have mercy on Harold Camping, who has destroyed lives and faiths for his own profit (Estimated money from donations according to the IRS: 13.8 million).

Perhaps it was a misspelling based upon Mr. Camping’s pronunciation. He didn’t say “the Rapture” was coming, he said “the Raptor” was coming. But there is only one raptor, and it has to make its way around the world.

Its going to take awhile to eat 300 million people, but if you see an empty set of clothes you’ll know the Raptor has been by.

For all you naysayers out there, it turns out Mr Camping was NOT wrong after all. In late-breaking news he was reported as revealing that, due to a slight miscalculation, he had gotten the world wrong. Another world unfortunately ended yesterday, just not the one he had originally predicted.

I know what you mean I work for the competition got off at 2:00 p.m went to mass at 5:00 went out to the parking lot and nothing except some clouds at 6:00 p.m was really disappointed as I did not want to go home and type up Fathers meditation for the Library oh well .My prayers are with those who really believe the stuff this guy puts out there.
