The Red Pill: How radical feminism is demeaning to men

Realistically - I don’t have any problem with men who actually want to improve the lives of men, so long as they don’t go about it by putting down women or by treating women as objects or as lesser beings.

I have some factual disagreements with some things in this thread - for example, I think statistics show that generally, men who seek custody generally get fairly equal custody, and that a lot of the statistics on custody are a result of the fact that, in our society, men are much more likely to choose to walk away. Which I believe is also a problem with the models of masculinity in our society.

What I really object to is guys who talk like most or all women are liars, gold diggers, or cheats out to milk men for all they are worth. Or talk like women should exist primarily in relation to their sexual gratification (whether married or not).

Edit: I do also have a problem when people use “but what about men” to derail women’s conversations, especially when it doesn’t do anything for men at all.

I love this logic. Every neo-Nazi, Alt-Righter and Red Piller on the internet believes it - they call me a racist/misogynist/homophobe because they know I’m right and can’t handle the truth!

I imagine somewhere in the world at this moment there is a NAMBLA activist telling himself the same - “They call me a paedophile because they can’t argue with my superior position!”

White nationalists are human filth, thoroughly disgusting people. MRAs and Red Pillers are just a bit pathetic - young, disaffected, socially awkward men who have major social issues and can’t get laid so they lash out at women as a collective. Honestly if you talk to one for long enough their personal issues with women always come out.
You have documented proof of all this or only rely on anger?

The anonymous internet is just that, anonymous.

👍

There is not a human being in the world who would not be able to find a reason to be a victim and be oppressed. The problem with this “pity poor me because no appreciates my suffering” is especially wrong because it detracts from those who are truly oppressed and in need.

We all have problems - sometimes terribly serious problems. We can either blame the world or we can rejoice in the gifts that we have be given and work with God to make our journey toward Him one of joy and giving.

.
That really does help. Thanks.

Respect for all needs to be practiced more, not Marxist/Communist thinking. Brainwashing and psychological warfare are quite real. When a group of total radical strangers try to convince all women they are, or will be, the eternal victims of men is pure hogwash. It assumes women, who they portray as innately superior, are unable to think for themselves or make good choices, so “they” have to step in. Not their family or mom or dad - THEM. Because, as we all know, they are out to destroy families and male, female relationships in general.

So, divide and conquer is much better, and more “fun” for the radicals. Otherwise, they’d be bored. The biggest secular “sin” there is.

Isn’t that what evil seeks to do? When I mean evil. I mean evil, like the Devil, not human radicals.

Divide humans from God, men from women, children from parents?

The Devil does his work through us. Big works and small.

James 4:7

“New International Version
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

“New Living Translation
So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

“English Standard Version
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

When we do not see evil as evil or listen to those who say evil is not evil, it is good, we ignore Church teaching and what God meant human beings to be and do for our own good.

Sure, total strangers legalize abortion, promote contraception inside and outside of marriage (I am not talking about health issues), and attack while hiding behind masks or not, evil cannot be tolerated.

Then when evil is legalized, any who speak against it are labeled under various names.

True love, caring, compassion, empathy and a re-creation of the proper way for men and women to get to know each other and marry. No, that’s wrong, that’s slavery, that means the enemy - men - is in a better position to attack.

Drain the poison from your minds, my brothers and sisters. Devise ways to live as God intended.

No, but saying, for example, that men shouldn’t get married because it’s more profitable to just have sex with women and marriage nowadays is just a legal trick for women to take advantage of men, or claiming (or effectively claiming) that no women should be in a leadership position, or talking about how most or all women are just gold-diggers who want to have fun with a “alpha male” but marry a “beta”, does I think pretty effectively go against Catholic teaching. All of which are things starshiptrooper has said in the past.
Right.

It’s really not hard to come up with a long list of Red Pill doctrines that don’t combine well with orthodox Catholicism.

“The Australian Sex Party is an Australian political party founded in 2009 in response to concerns over the increasing influence of religion in Australian politics.”

Nope, it’s not just the US. I can understand why some may prefer not to look at what’s going on elsewhere.

I know, but the global efforts amount to a rising tide in various countries. But yeah, manufacturing the bizarre does seem to be a thing in “the most powerful country on earth.”

I chalk it up to boredom and a lack of cohesiveness in American society that has grown over the years. 1979, singer Iggy Pop.

“I wish life could be anything! Bark, bark, bark!”

That is an assessment of current laws and social conventions.
…or claiming (or effectively claiming) that no women should be in a leadership position…
The Church does not teach that any specific form of government is mandatory.
…or talking about how most or all women are just gold-diggers who want to have fun with a “alpha male” but marry a “beta”, does I think pretty effectively go against Catholic teaching.
Please point out the relevant teaching here.

Not all women, just a certain group that has bestowed enemy status on men.

Well, watching ‘high grade silliness’ is on my ‘to do’ list. Besides, when you can be any gender you want (well, at least several dozen) then that just crosses the line from lunacy to Anarchy. Anarchy bad.

Ed

Them’s fighting words - we Australians would sooner discuss religion, sex or politics than beer preferences!

The Church does, in fact, teach that men and women have equal dignity and that one sex is not to be preferred over the other. I don’t think any of those statements can be reconciled in any way that doesn’t teach that women are inherently inferior to men.

That is your opinion.

All,

I would like to ask that you all please watch this documentary. It’s a really good documentary that focuses on the negative effect radical feminism has on men.** WARNING:** They interview radical feminist protesters at times which use a PLETHORA of profanity so this is definitely not family friendly. Other than the profanity, it’s okay.

What is this?!

Well said, and in my opinion (maybe not yours) the primary perpetrators of this mentality have been feminists, not all feminists, but a large proportion.

I see men’s advocacy groups as largely a reaction.

I don’t understand your last sentence, but I wholeheartedly agree with the first one, and that is precisely my objection to contemporary feminism and misandry in US culture.
