As Iran’s Thug-In-Chief prepares his “convert to Islam” Christmas message to Britain, Muslims in Nazareth are greeting pilgrims with their own brand of Christmas cheer.

(CNSNews.com) – As Nazareth’s Christians prepare to celebrate Christmas, they are playing down the appearance of a confrontational Islamic banner that challenges an elemental Christian belief.

Journalists visiting the city saw two large banners--one in English, one in Arabic--hanging in the plaza in front of the Basilica of the Annunciation, with a verse from the Koran (112:1-4) contradicting the New Testament proclamation that Jesus is the “only begotten” of God.

“In the name of Allah, the most beneficent, the most merciful, Say (O Muhammad): He is Allah, (the) One and Only. Allah, the Eternal, the Absolute. He begetteth not, nor was begotten, and there is none like unto him,” the banner reads.

Nazareth Mayor Ramiz Jaraisy played down concerns that a banner effectively denying Jesus’ deity was provocative to Christians, although he did question its position, in front of Nazareth’s most prominent landmark.

“I don’t think that it’s provocative against anyone,” he said. “My point of view [is] that it’s not the right place to put it and it’s not the right way to do that.”

He can’t say anything stronger. If he does, he could be killed. Over the centuries, dhimmi Christians learned to say that everything was fine – or else.
But Jaraisy said he would not remove the banner because some Islamic fundamentalist groups were looking to provoke a confrontation in order to promote their cause. He did not want to provide them with that opportunity....

The lack of sensitivity could only mean a desire to subdue the joy that Christians recieve during Christmas.

If the Christians do this in a Muslim country by displaying a big billboard of John 14:6 in the same manner during a Muslims festive season most probably a big issue is made of it followed by mob burning some churches.

Christians response to this provocation should be Biblical. Be steadfast in our belief, let not any evil sways our hearts and pray for them.

my question could be elementary but it puzzles me why if muslims accept abraham as their patriarch, who was a jew, how can your holy book teach to kill the jews and christians - in your eyes the infidels? the christians are taught to love their neighbors, jews or muslims or hindus, etc. why can’t you love them just as christians are taught in the Bible? christians living in saudi arabia or other muslim countries can not openly worship their God w/o physical abuse, but muslims living here in the States and other democractic countries are free to worship openly. is this fair to you?

When read verses on war or killing , pl. remember the context.

Bible has verse on destroying the whole city including domestic animals if they are idol worshippers. Is it ok for me to say that Bible teaches you to kill all the idol worshippers now or hate people of the other faith ?

Non-Muslims are not allowed to enter in to holy Kaaba only . During the time of Prophet Muhammed (p) , Christians visited him in his mosque at Madina , stayed there & even offered prayers inside the mosque at their Qibla ( direction).
Even in war time , Muslims were not allowed to destroy Churches or kill any Priests.

In all Muslim majority countries , Christians have their Churches . Not sure about Saudi Arabia . Except Macca , they should allow Christians to have Churches. May be , for security reasons ( as Muslims two holiest mosques are there in KSA ) , Govt . does not allow it.

when Jesus came he preached “love your enemies.” we are Christians and try to follow his teachings. no, we don’t do what occurred in the OT. Jesus offered his own life as an example of how to love your enemies. no other sacrifice is greater than offering one’s life to his friend.

have you heard how many priests were killed by muslim fanatics in iraq alone? numbers of Christians in muslim countries are diminshing fast, not because they’re converting to islam but because they are fleeing for their lives and their families. equity? hardly.

christians are not perfect but bush, blair and other freedom loving leaders of the free world had offered/sacrificed their children to bring dignity and freedom to the oppressed afgans and iraquis. you do not condemn these freedom loving leaders for helping the poor muslims, right?

But the true God of the Bible, who first revealed Himself to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob DOES beget, because He begets the Logos from His timeless womb from all eternity without mother in heaven, and then in time begets Him in the womb of the Virgin Mary without father on earth.

**Mormonoids teach this but not Christianity, which teaches that this was a virginal conception.
