Simple question - will our present bodies be raised (i.e. our corpses) or will we be given new bodies in the exact form as they were in our lives now?
We really don’t know. The raising of corpses seems problematic, as such, because many bodies are now dust (or fish food… or burnt… or, or, or…). So, we can’t really box God into a corner and say “He’s gonna raise up the old flesh”.will our present bodies be raised (i.e. our corpses) or will we be given new bodies in the exact form as they were in our lives now?
I think that we will be able to tell the difference. After all, if I come back as a 20-something, that’ll be a significant different that will be readily apparent! Even if I come back at my current age, I’ll be able to tell the difference: perfect senses (20/20 vision, etc, etc), no aches and pains, etc, etc.My point is if you can’t tell the difference what difference does the “mode” of resurrection matter?
You’d be surprised. Philosophers say all kinds of wild things…eventually after so many years, your body is made up of entirely new matter, but no one would say that it is not your body still.
This is correct. Speculation about resurrected bodies is, perhaps, not very helpful. We really don’t know.
