The right path?

New to forums so excuse me if this is in the wrong section.

I am a returning Catholic after many years astray, but I find myself surrounded with different videos on youtube about why the new mass isn’t correct and that we should be following the Latin version.
Then there are all sorts of scare stories and rumours being spread about the vatican + lightning strike, that I’m nervous to repeat incase they are not true.

The recent weather and solar changes / blood moons / animal mass deaths all tend to add to my confusion as I’m now thinking maybe there is something going on.

I want to try and be a better person and live a better life following the right path, but the above raise so many questions with regards how best to proceed.

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

I can just about name the website from where these videos originate. Angry traditionalists use propaganda such as this to browbeat innocent Catholics into wrong thinking, hopefully to gain a bigger following. If the ordinary form of our liturgy was deficient in any way, don’t you think one of the last three popes might have eliminated it with a Motu Proprio (a declaration on his own initiative and authority)? It is universally celebrated. If you take time to research the miniscule percentage of parishes that offer the Extraordinary Form you will not even envision that the latin mass is the only correct liturgy. Please put that idea out of your head.

As for the Vatican scare stories, they are exactly what you called them - rumors, from evil people who hate the Catholic Church.

God’s word tells us that there is more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents and returns to God! I rejoice with heaven that you have found your way home! God will help you and guide you with the infinite care of a Shepherd. I wish I could be there to see all of His handiwork in you!

For a refresher course, I recommend that you either purchase a Catechism, or log on to it whenever you have questions that we may not be able to answer quickly for you. Here’s the website.

Your reply has given me hope. Unfortunately my knowledge is lacking with regards doctrine etc but intend to try and study my faith further and be in a position to help others in the way you have helped me.

We are all here to help in any way. Don’t worry about doctrine right now, but concentrate on just giving your heart to Christ and follow Him. Doctrine without love just puffs up an ego. Love is all He asks of you for now, and He will lead you into fuller knowledge as you become ready to go from milk to meat. . Yes, it’s important, but don’t let it overwhelm you at this stage.

I would encourage you to stay off You Tube, as there are all sorts of nutty people who post videos out there.

You may rest assured that the current ordinary form of the Mass is approved by the Pope.

Why would you believe anything like this? Are you prone to believe crazy stories in other areas of your life?

There is nothing going on. There have always been people who want to predict the end of the world or other things, but the Lord has already told us to ignore such fools.

I want to try and be a better person and live a better life following the right path, but the above raise so many questions with regards how best to proceed.

I would encourage you to return to the sacraments and be at peace knowing you are abiding with Christ in his Church.

Stay away from conspiracy theory websites and people.

Every denomination that separated itself from the Catholic faith, said the same, that the Church had gone astray, and now, the only ones who possessed the real truth is them (those who break away and form their own brand of Christianity)

I was almost pulled into a sect that preached the faith had been compromised during Vatican II, until, by the Grace of God, I realized the above.

Now that I think about it, I’m surprised I was listening to it - I must be easily influenced.
I will continue on my road - trying to be a better person, focused on my mass rosary and helping others - hopefully avoiding such things in future.

It’s great having a site that people can ask such questions as I didn’t know who to approach.

I shall pray for you. You have every reason to be worried, but, friend, don’t lose yourself in worry; rather trust in God’s help and look to Him, Mary, and our homeland in heaven for comfort.
